that little flyer just gives dates & locations as
it's apparently a nationwide show

im not even sure if website goes into that detail
admittedly i get a headache after 5 min reading

although i suspect you're right on as to source
and probably some mechanism for getting papers

Wish I was there when that was on, I gather a little bit of fiddling around if you bought one to update the registration and tax etc.

i thought faceb market was (1) actual useful
thing about the fb . and generally it is but 2nd hand motocy section is just extremely dodgy 🙄

yes, getting a complete set of necessary ownership transfer docs. and bike at normal cost
not some ridiculous inflated figure. all positives

The bikes are a mix of finance repos and police confiscations.

that counts me out then..
but I guess if you win a bike you take the price out of the deposit..
what if someone else outbids you, do you get your 50,000 back?

Don't think they'll get many bidders with a 50k deposit.

I think the 50k deposit it quite sensible.

Discourages the tyre kickers, and those who may walk away after winning a bid and have buyers regret.

I can't imagine that the deposit isn't refundable, or usable as part of the purchase price.

A quick check of the Auctioneers website shows the deposit to bid for a motorcycle is B5000, and B20,000 for a vehicle. It is described as a "sign deposit", which I guess is a sign which will identify you when you bid, and can be "deposited" at the end of the auction.

http://www.sahaauction.com/Home/about

B50,000 refers to those wishing to bid via the internet.

So yes, I am happy to stick with my earlier post - with the amended deposit amount.

buying used stuff is downright stressful. you never know the history ( true in any country) and
often they require lots of neglected maintenance

best to buy from a known source, ideally a farang who understands maintenance is required and worthwhile.

Bought a used pick-up from an American gentleman who had had it since new. It was meticulously maintained by the main dealer and provided trouble free motoring for several years until we sold it to a temple (i kid you not).

Turned out to be great value purchase over the several years we owned it.
