Sliding Gate Motor/Opener

Post by NongKhaiLee » December 9, 2021, 9:54 am

I know this subject has been brought up a few times in the past, but when I searched the threads I found that the information is old enough to not be very valid now.

The HomExpert gate motor that I purchased from ToolPro Plus is giving me trouble, it is ten years old and parts are no longer available (I am told). Does anyone have any suggestions as far as buying a new gate motor goes? ToolPro no longer sells them. I did see a couple of models at Global House here in NongKhai, but am totally unsure of the quality.

I looked on AliExpress and also on Lazada, there are so many different openers and brands I was overwhelmed. If anyone has purchased one on either of those sites can they provide some feedback?

Thanks!

Large percentage originate in China and seem reasonable.
I've had a 220v system installed and running for over 4 years now without any problems.
Just an el-cheapo in my opinion but ok just the same.Cost was around AUD$350 with motor unit, 2 remotes, guide rails, end brackets, magnetic limits, rack gears (3) for approx. 3 metre operation additional post entry code unit etc.etc.
An example supplier is on ebay here but aliexpress etc should have the same as would some of the Thai hardware stores.

I made my own gate out of 50x1.5mm square section steel tubing and added hardwood palings.
Can post a photo if required. :D :D

Suggest you contact K. Thong - 0878646004. He installed ours a few years ago and it's been trouble free. Rogers Technology from Italy.

Things like automatic gate openers are why we just celebrated our 40th anniversary, a small price to pay!

My son and I made our gate also, I would like to see a pic of your gate. We are getting a new concrete street past the other end of our property so I may build another gate.

I bought an "eVison" gate motor at Global House on the ring road. They didn't have the gear track though, had to order that online. They checked the other Global House stores in Isan and would have ordered it from them for me but none of them had any. It'll be a while before I put it in, so won't have a review ready anytime soon.

I could have gotten one cheaper online, but I have been having some really bad experiences with online orders lately so didn't even give it a try.I will need one more motor, so maybe I'll order that one online.

I appreciate all of the help, you guys are great!
