Chequer plate steel
Chequer plate steel
Looking to use chequer plate in two different scenarios. Firstly, as stair treads in a short stair set from rear deck to ground, and secondly as walk-on hatch covers over a 4 m x 5 m aboveground rainwater storage facility.
Will be pleased to hear from anyone who can recommend a good fabricator.Re: Chequer plate steel
I've had some pieces made up before by the huge metal shop right next door to the big Ban Chiang pot on the start of the Khon Kaen HWY2 at the ring road crossroads. You can't miss it, there's always loads of gaudy coloured play equipment outside which looks like it will lacerate any kids brave enough to use it
They only seem to offer paint finish though so after a couple of little powder coat trials I've got the characters in this thread making me a piece up. Collect on Thursday so I can't give any recommendations yet

Re: Chequer plate steel
I’ve been lucky a couple of times searching the village scrap yard guys. They at times have off cuts you could use. 5mm plate was good for under our 2 x 3000ltr tanks.
It’s a matter of searching your local area.
