XL 21" Frame Size Unique Modified 29er Mountain Bike/ SOLD

Post by jackspratt » June 26, 2022, 12:57 pm

Posted for non-member - please call Mike on 0810574693 for further details.

Price is THB9.500.

If you are not 6'/183cms tall, read no further.

This bike, even with a slightly sloping top tube has a stand over height of 32" so requires a minimum inseam of 33", preferably 34" (86cms).
This is a big bicycle.

Difficult to find over here in SE Asia, a true XL frame size for us larger peeps.
A lot of ads (even on B&S here) advertise an XL mtb that run an actual 19" frame. A 19" frame is an L. Not an XL.
This bike was specifically ordered in 2020 from a Khon Kaen bike shop that managed to locate an XL in BKK for me.
It is an alloy framed 2020 Trinx X1Pro.
Has about 3500kms on it.
60/40 tarmac/red dirt roads.
I rode it stock (ish) for the first few months.
It now runs a suspension adjusted Mosso M6 alloy rigid front mtb fork. This weighs ONE KILO less than the magnesium suspension fork it replaced.
Front crankset is a Shimano, 44-32-22, crank arms are 175mm.
Aftermarket aluminium flat pedals.
Rear cassette was recently (less than 500kms) replaced with a Shimano CS-HG 400-9 11-32T set up.
Recent (less than 500kms) new Shimano CN-HG93 chain.
Stock h/bar trigger shifters and front and rear derailleurs are Shimano.
Stock h/bar m/cylinders, and hydraulic calipers are Shimano.
Old school 3x9 gearing for any situation and weight.
Upgraded Tange-Seike Made in Japan BBB.
Formula hubs run sealed cartridge bearings.
Just rebuilt the rear wheel with purchased in the UK, Made in Italy, double butted 18/8 stainless steel Alpina F1 spokes.
Saddle is a Velo VL3526 with cutaway.
Bars are on a 100mm Truvativ 7 degree stem, and are fashioned on the Koga Denham bars, 680mm wide with a supremely comfortable 40 degrees of sweep, and bar ends mounted inboard for an additional hand position.
Rockbros aluminium mini pump
2 bottle cages and bottles.
Vintage style bell custom mounted on the steerer tube.
Lots of stainless lightened fasteners throughout.
2200 Baht's worth of new 29" tanwall tires and tubes, including one of the fastest rolling rear XC mtb tires available on the market, the 2.25" Schwalbe Thunder Burt (1600 Baht). This is an incredibly fast rolling tire on hardpack and tarmac.
I can convert the cockpit to riser or flat bars for that XC mtb racer look, at no extra cost, but honestly these bars with a more upright riding position are just soooo comfy, especially for all day riding.
The bicycle is set up as an allroad bike, a gravel bike, a bikepacking bike, an alt touring bike, even a daily city commuter bike.
But mostly its the right bike fit for tall cyclists.

Price is firm, and priced to sell, first to see it, sit on it, then ride it, will buy it.
Built, modified and maintained by 40 plus years fitter/turner and motorcycle mechanic with my own workshops here.
Prefer collection in person, i would rather not want to ship.
Genuine reason for a regrettable sale - found and bought an XL Surly!
