Don't buy any cheap ---- mate. Make sure it's a good make and you can get parts such as blades. Another thing to remember is that the wood in Thailand is ''hard wood'' therefor a good plane is essential.
Makita is best. You will get one for about 8-9000 Baht which will last a life time.

Managed to get a used Bosch planer for about 2000 Baht. Generally can't go wrong with German stuff.
