THOUGHTS ON THE NEW Leader of the SNP

Post by Khun Paul » March 28, 2023, 5:55 pm

Knowing how fiercely protective the Scottish are of their History etc, I wonder what the average Scot who lives in Scotland or possibly here thinks of the NEW Asian leader, not those who decided to leave SCOTLAND for other climes .

As a Scot several generations removed, I feel qualified to comment.

Unfortunately, this part of your post is incomprehensible. What do you mean by
not those who decided to leave SCOTLAND for other climes .

I think OIC Ship's Guns is referring to Tamada, who was 86'd by DooDoo and the Skipper a couple of weeks back.

So, you're another Scotsman who hails from Australia? I have to say it's getting rather fashionable on this forum.

Westers stepped into his time machine and dialled the year back to 1975.

There will be some who prefer Rob Roy, Robert the Bruce or even Keir Hardie in a damp kilt and no underpants, sir. However, the SNP has moved on. Pride in their history? It makes me wonder why they're all gushing at the gash to join the European Union (Common Market in your day, sir). SNP supporters aren't really nationalists anymore but socialist Europeans - that's the aspiration. A Muslim Scotsman of Asian heritage is the new Alba.

It would be interesting to see who had the deepest pockets and shortest arms when it came to a shout at the bar.

I never thought the Scots were parsimonious until one day I visited my uncle who was busily scapping the wallpaper of the living room walls.

'Are you redecorating Uncle Jim'

'Nay wee Alasdair, I'm moving'

My son tells me, his Nana tells him, that he has Scottish blood from her and his great nana's mob - The Cunningham and the Allen mobs. Dad's mob were Welsh on his dad's side and from Yorkshire on his mum's side. Mongrels and Aussies the lot of us.

Who cares if he migrated from another country or is a Muslim. Colour and religion should not define a person. If he cares about his country, that is all that masters

You will always be in the latter category, of course, but you shouldn't feel ashamed of being an Australian.

I couldn't agree more...except for the bit about you being Scottish because you're not, you're an Australian. Nothing wrong with being an Aussie, you don't have to pretend to be something else.

The Australian Govt recognises you as a Scottish citizen, do you hold a Scottish passport? How about a tartan driving licence from Auchtermuchty?
