This is as good a thread to post this........the 40-ish% completed building on the opposite side of Napalai Hotel, but closer to the 4 way Kutjap intersection. As I recall, the building was started just after Thaitanic hit in Aug 1997 and left as is for 25 years. The google map photo is from earlier this year. I took the second photo today.
When it's all fixed up, it'll probably look like a new building....but in reality, the brick/columns/rebar sat exposed to the elements for all these years.

The คนละครึ่ง program is probably not much different than all the $5 Trillion worth of economic stimulus packages that were available to millions of Americans during the worst of the pandemic. Naturally the naysayers will point out the fraud, but for a lot of people, individuals and especially small businesses, the payments kept their heads above water.

The Thai program is now in phase 5......but even before this particular program, there have been countless programs to help the poorer segment of Thai society. For the individuals concerned it doesn't add up to much, and no doubt there's plenty of fraud........but it does help put food on the table for many Thais.
