$250 cost of living eligability

Post by Whistler » March 31, 2022, 7:37 pm

I was looking at eligabitility rules to receive this one off payment, and think no expat Australians on the pension will get it. A bit obscure but it appears as if the requirements are

The payment will be given to eligible recipients of the following schemes, and to concession card holders:

Age Pension
Disability Support Pension
Parenting Payment
Carer Payment
Carer Allowance (if not in receipt of a primary income support payment)
Jobseeker Payment
Youth Allowance
Austudy and Abstudy Living Allowance
Double Orphan Pension
Special Benefit
Farm Household Allowance
Pensioner Concession Card (PCC) holders
Commonwealth Seniors Health Card holders
Eligible Veterans’ Affairs payment recipients
Veteran Gold card holders.

As most expats only get the pension, the rules are you have to have 2 or more from the criteria list. Maybe things like the PCC holders for some are still eligable.

Anybody done more research or can update their views?

I had a bumper sticker in Texas that read 'Beam me up Scotty'. I often wish I could find one in Udon Thani
