I'd save my energy for when (if) price inflation hits Thailand as it has in the US. We don't do Villa or much at Tesco.....pretty much everything at the local market or Makro for food items, and pretty much nothing of US origin. For that, the prices seem to be very stable. I did read something in the Thai press recently that said Sizzler is raising prices 10%......but my noodle soup price remains as it was for the past 2 years.
Diesel/cooking gas prices still fixed.

The carboys of delivered drinking water were B8, then B10. then B12, then last year B15 ........ expecting them to jump to B20 soon (to cover increased diesel/petrol price hikes)

Cooking oil shortage is worldwide and unlikely to be solved soon - from BBC News:
Sunflower oil: UK bottler has a few weeks' supply left

The biggest cooking oil bottler for UK shops has said it only has a few weeks' supply of sunflower oil left.

Ukraine and Russia produce most of the world's sunflower oil and the war is disrupting exports, said Edible Oils.

The company, which packages oil for 75% of the UK retail market, is ramping up supplies of other oils for shoppers.

Meanwhile, manufacturers of foods that contain sunflower oil, like crisps, oven chips and cereal bars, are reworking their recipes.

The Food Standards Agency has advised people with allergies to look out for extra information from shops and food makers.

Kim Matthews, commercial director at Edible Oils said 80% of the global supply of sunflower oil comes out of Russia and Ukraine.

"Thailand inflation jumps 5.73 percent in March, hits consumers’ wallets hard.

In March, Thailand’s inflation saw its highest monthly jump in 13 years, rising to 5.73% year on year. That’s according to the Commerce Ministry’s Office of Trade Policy and Strategy, which pins the blame on the war in Ukraine, which has pushed up fuel, food and electricity prices.

This unexpected turn of events has caused the office to adjust its figures for the year, which they had hoped would be one of recovery for the languishing Thai economy after two years of pandemic. In response, the office has increased its 2022 inflation projection to 4.5% from 0.7%-2.4%, after recording an average monthly inflation rate of 4.75% in the first quarter. The new projection was set assuming a growth rate of 3.4-4.5%, a crude oil price average of 90-110 USD a barrel, and a THB-USD exchange rate of 32-34 baht per dollar."......

Don't worry. There are exceptions. Chinese triad leaders will still be able to launder money through the purchase of real estate in British Columbia and Ontario. Their children who are studying at a Canadian University/college will be able to purchase homes for them as will any relatives with landed immigrant status or permanent residency in the Great White North. If you want to know how they do it read, "Wilful Blindness" by Sam Cooper: 'How a network of narcos, tycoons and CCP agents infiltrated the West'.

Am I correct in assuming that, similar to the UK, the rules and regulations that allow this acquisition by stealth were enacted during the years of a previous administration? I recall in the late 1990's there was the surge of Hong Kong Chinese immigration that was mostly enabled by the Commonwealth of Nations agreements. More recently, it seems the mainland Chinese are the ones buying their way into Canada but they're definitely not of our Commonwealth.
