I used to buy Aunt Julia's peanut butter cookies......6 to a pack. Then suddenly the packs came with only 4. If you look at the ingredients label with a pair of premium rose-colored glasses, you'll see that 4 are probably 3 too many. At our age, it's probably just as well that things like this are downsized.semperfiguy wrote: ↑August 7, 2022, 10:53 amFor years I have been buying these cookies for a snack. They used to package them 12 cookies per pack for 10 Baht. Now they have cut the package size down to 8 cookies and raised the price to 12 Baht at Big C, so that's an 80% price increase per cookie. The price at 7/11 in Khon Kaen a few weeks back was 13 Baht. Most people might say it's not a big deal, but if every vendor uses this kind of method to gouge the consumer, our monthly grocery bill will be taking a huge hit.
If you can manage to keep a half kilo of these cookies in your pantry without gorging yourself, buy them at Makro.....I doubt anywhere is as cheap. Twenty-four separate packs for 88 Baht....3.67 Baht per pack. All the convenience stores sell the same small packs for 5 Baht.
