Digital watch specialist needed
Digital watch specialist needed
I have 2 nice old Seiko digital watches A939 and 7T32 which for sentimental reasons I would like to have tweaked by someone who may be familiar with these early examples of the genre. Anyone know a suitable/affordable specialist nearby?

Udon Optical, about 150m from the fountain circle on the way to Makro, right hand side. The guy in there has been fixing watches for decades.

I second parrot's recommendation. Probably the most knowledgeable you'll find in Udon.

Would have thought nothing to tweek in a digital watch, all crystal controlled.

I highly recommend the guy who has a small shop on the second floor of Central Plaza. We've been using him for years. His shop is right next to the elevators. I've seen him working on some very old time pieces.

Re: Udon Optical.
The guy there is Seiko trained so I took my antique Seiko automatic for a service. He said he couldn't do anything so it was taken to a watch shop on the ground floor of The Complex. A few parts replaced and it works perfect. Cost about 1000 baht.

The guy who used to be on the first floor of Central Plaza is now on the 2nd floor next to the elevators. I have had poor results with udon optical when I was still wearing glasses. He was unable to prepare a pair of eyeglasses that I could see out of clearly. The guy became quite upset and just threw my money back at me refusing to try and remake the lens. A trip to Bangkok for a total eye exam at Rutnin Eye Hospital found the problem was cataracts which the "optometrist" at Udon Optical should have easily found as well if he was interested in really examining my eyes.
