My missus just said maybe 7 attacked with the knife. At or near the clock roundabout early to day.

Supposedly calling for blood donations at the hospital.

Saw photos
Looney trussed up in back of pickup
Other photos were graphic
Knife looked like a small serrated kitchen knife
Could have been from a Tarantino flik

According to the article, the man stabbed his first two victims at the corner of Naresuan and Srichumchuen Roads just behind the prison. He stabbed another near the mosque on Srichumcheun, then another near Makkaeng School before heading to the area near Prajak traffic circle where he stabbed more before he was finally apprehended. All the victims appear to be women. The man was from Nongwahsaw.
My wife and I have frequented that area just behind the prison for decades....my barber, my wife's hairdresser, our favorite noodle shop, Lung Nuat's lahb on one side of the mosque and the Muslim paht grapao restaurant on the other side. A sad day for the people of Udon. Our sympathies to the victims and their families.

Either a yabba head or the loss of face boyfriend ditched by 1 of the girls on the bike. Should have drove him somewhere no 1s around and put a bullet in his head. He will get the Death Penalty for this anyway.

Terrible incident, close to home and my kids.

And thanks Parrot for translating the oddly written article.

Just caught this on the morning news as yesterdsy the TV stations were concentrating on the Bkk 5th Dec celebrations (which btw were fantastic)

Tragic incident .. and very concerning that something like this can happen in broad daylight on busy streets in Udon ..and in any other province for that matter ... just what could have been done to prevent this or anymore similar in the future is not easy to fathom .. as there are a lot of mentally ill within the community that possibly should not be .

RIP to the victims too young to leave this world very very sad ,sunday Udon is waking up too , condolences to their families one cannit imagine what they are going through.

Yes The written article hard to follow! Looking at the video
I wonder if the two girls survived, or was only injured?

Yaabaa is scary stuff and there's no easy way of telling who's messed up on it or how they'll react. Looking at other criminal acts, it seems like they can kick off at the oddest things. Wrong time, wrong place looks like the only thing that these victims have in common.

I think the law says that if someone pleads guilty, any death sentence is automatically commuted to life?

Anyway, watch this space for the date and time of the usual, pathetic and ultimately pointless police reenactment show.

The translation is confusing
Two women were killed 5 otherswere injured
Looney says he was on drugs and has previously been in the nut house
What happened to the other man on looneys bike is a question needing answers

I understand 3 died including a young teen who died of her injuries in hospital. The other guy was the killers mate, he did not know what was going to happen and ran away shocked at what the guy did. The killer worked in a pig abboitoir in NWS, thus the knife used to slaughter pigs was available to him.

Those killed were slashed across thier throats, as per the technique for killing pigs. The guy was on Yabba

^ Not his monkey, not his circus. Probably a fellow yaabaa zombie who was simply looking to score, hadn't a clue what was happening and didn't even know the stabbers name let alone his intent.

That's my Sunday "diminished responsibility" defence done.

Yaba is accurately named, crazy medicine. Maybe Thaksin had the right idea, kill the pushers. There is simply too much easy profit from selling drugs. Apparently no one has an answer for this very serious disease. Yes it is a disease with no cure to be found. Locking up the users for a short period of time obviously doesn't work. Maybe confiscating this poison, doctoring it with a drug that makes people seriously sick and putting those poisoned pills back on the streets has some merit. There must be a more effective way to deal with this drug problem.

Maybe the government should follow the money. Force those unusually wealthy people to prove where their big money comes from. Thai people have an unhealthy attitude concerning wealthy people. Those are respected because they have big money regardless of where the money comes from.

Sure, the police are going to track down the source. Very little investigation is required in my village. In fact, none at all.

There has never been an easy way to HALT the Drug Trade , far to many countries, know the problem and have treated it with , imprisonment, confiscation and even outing the so called Drug dealers and its sundry staff and YET it like Corruption here has pervaded society like no other problem. In days of yore it used to be GIN, drugs were rampant in China ( Shanghai) Hong Kong, even the USA in its formative decades, heroin Cafes etc. Even well to do societies used Cannabis as a recreational Drug, from that it takes strong willed people not to go to the next Level Cocaine or Heroin.
Now we have a Mix of Drugs clustered under one Name Amphetamines, of which the Thai name of Yaba, is part of, widely used , quickly addictive and destroys the user and all those around them .
The answer is as before, unfortunately life is not easy, ( not as easy as it was when drugs started to become acceptable , Flower Power etc, the swinging 60's ) . More and more become depressed, families are breaking up ( by often the need to earn money ) . In fact if I was a youngster these days I may be depressed just like them.

Getting drunk is not an option anymore, getting too expensive need to much to get high. When one tablet will do the job, cheaper and easier to do .
