We had our kitchen designed to our specs and built/installed by Decor's Choice nearly 15 years ago when the term "toe kick and plumbing p traps" were unheard of here. These terms and others were well known to Decor's Choice. My Thai-American wife and I returned to Thailand to retire and knew exactly what we were looking for after living and working in the US since 1975. Decor's Choice met our needs and then some. They're professional and very talented. Their showroom is located just off the Fountain Circle at 2/19-20 Adunyadetch Road, 081-975-2630 . They produce excellent workmanship and will stand behind their products 100%. The materials are all very high quality. A local English speaking husband and wife own the operation and produce their products here in Udon Thani for installation locally as well exporting to Bkk. The lady's name is Apple unfortunately, I've forgotten her husband's name. You'll find automatically soft closing drawers/doors as well as a host of other offerings to suit anyone's needs/desires. Here's their website: https://www.decorschoice.co.th . I highly recommend them.

I appears to me that it all depends what you want and how much you want to spend. We remodeled our kitchen a couple years ago. The bottom storage cabinets are concrete framed and have custom made aluminum framed inserts for the storage. The countertops are 24 inch ceramic floor tiles. My Thai wife is quite happy with everything. As long as she is satisfied, who am I to complain? The hanging cabinets are also aluminum frames with glass doors. No termite problems for sure. I can assure you that the total cost was well under 100,000 baht for everything including the kitchen sink and plumbing. Of course we don't have to impress anyone.

I would say that at least 90 percent of our cooking is done in the outside kitchen. I bake my bread in my living room in my bread making machine because the smell of baking bread is wonderful. My wife doesn't approve but that is what pleases me. Sometimes I do get things my way.

Hi glalt, you have to tell me what Brand/model bread making machine you are using, as I have been searching for one

Likewise 75% of our cooking is done outside in the Thai Shanty kitchen. Its suits me fine \:D/ \:D/

This is the one I have. Lazada has several different sizes. This one makes a 750 gram loaf. If I had it to do over, I would have bought a bigger one that can make a 900 gram loaf. It has been bullet proof and does a great job.

Right now I have it on the dough cycle. I'm going to try to make some hamburger buns. Recently I bought an air fryer. I'm going to try to bake a few in there and the rest in my little oven.

The air fryer works as well and maybe even better than the oven. It is also much faster. About 185 C for 12 to 14 minutes from cold. No preheating needed.

decor choice is a very good shop with indeed nice owners , but their prices have become very high , our first kitchen we paid 150.000 baht for cabinets , mdf with lacquered doors (also mdf ) last quote we did get was 450.000 baht for about same size and quality...if they would still have a decent price i would have not doubted on ordering there as they also did perfect work with our first kitchen ,but this was outside our budget as i do not want to pay more (due to import + taxes?)as i paid my kitchen abroad ,in los should still be 1/3 of the price from abroad , one of the only times i do compare prices in los with prices abroad...but it is all up to you what you want and want to spend on it ;)

first kitchen installed almost 20years ago was with decor choice for a still reasonable price , 12 years later we went same shop to realize their prices had been tripled , we bought at index and they did a fine job , 3 years ago opted for boonthavorn as they had at the time a better discounted alternative as index ...most basic materials used at kitchens is mdf and prices should be same as mdf is mdf , finishing doors can be different in prices due to different materials ;)
Received my quote today, blood pressure slowly returning to normal 400000 baht no including appliances, electrics or tiling

It’s quotes like this that were large enough to start with for mdf then escalated quickly when adding “extras” like a sink & taps that I decided to go concrete carcasses, granite top & get a carpenter to make hardwood doors. I’m pretty happy with the result

as i suspected dr , maybe go back boonthavorn and ask about same kitchen line i have used , surely can not be much different as 4 years ago ...what i looked at for a kitchen was decent cabinet material (mdf ok ) and i spend more on my appliances as we cook and bake a lot ,what is important is having a good maintainable countertop such as granite ,
easy to clean , so 75.000 baht cabinets , 18.000 granite tops , freestanding stove+oven 90cm, 64.000 baht, composite black sink 14.000 baht and hood 90cm bought in clearance sale @ homepro 10.000 baht (iso 20.000 baht)..bought also some slide draw system in stainless @ homepro and installed it myself , fridge 49.000 baht, freezer with draws 10.000 baht ..so appliances came out more expensive as the cabinets ...as info .. ;)

Looks good will have a look tomorrow at boonthavorn thanks for sharing. The kitchen we liked at homepro came down this week to 171000 without tops or appliances so that's currently the worst we will pay, granite tops that sparkle came in at 50k homepro shop outside 19000 includes cutting and fitting
