Watch shop on the left side of Thongyai as you travel between Phosri/Nittayo traffic lights towards the Prajak Sillapakom/Railway Station traffic lights. Before the u turn to get into Tesco-Lotus.

thanks for that tamada , found the shop easy enough , but don't know if the old guy is anti-farang or does,nt like fat blokes , but he did,nt even look at the watch just waved his hand " away " said " not can " . took it to the shop on the lights across from the plaza , but thought 900 baht was a bit OTT .

Try the shop at Central Mall. Basement level. As you enter from the car park going to Tops, it's on the left next to the entrance.

I can highly recommend the guy opposite UD town that Tamada identified, he repaired my Seiko a couple of months ago, only 800 thb to replace an electronic component and crown.

Runs like a Japanese watch now 55
I had a bumper sticker in Texas that read 'Beam me up Scotty'. I often wish I could find one in Udon Thani

Don't know about any 'old guy' at that location. The repair guy has a small booth within the watch shop, towards the front. He's not old, he's paraplegic (sits in a wheelchair) and he replaced the 'capacitor' in my automatic Seiko.

But before you do, make sure you go the the ATM first. He tried to sell me a 'genuine' Seiko watch band for 'speshun price' 2500 baht, reduced from 2800 baht.

If they're replacing the capacitor (they don't use batteries any more) than that's not too bad a price.
