yup maybe the wee shop on the end of the row, right where the crash barrier starts for the approach to the new bridge.

There's a better selection at Thai Watsadu than previously but that's maybe a bit long for a stock M4? I am headed there shortly so I can take a decko if you like.

Have. Only countersunk cross-head though no cheese head or hex head. 25 baht a pack with nuts on the Pansiam racks.

we really need a hardware ,machine -shop roundup . this place really is an industrial hub .
i passed some workshop downtown the other
day with metal turning lathes& mills ( u.s. made)
that must date back to 60s when base was here

springs , clips , roll-pins, cotter keys, every possibly fastener&nut type can be found in udon

This forum in itself is testament to the plethora of nuts to be had here.

But that's a really good idea about a tool and machine shop 'roundup' thread. Give it a relevant name like Tool Time and post names and locations of what we know or discover. That shop near the bridge and your own machine shop down town would be good starters. I have a couple of my own to add.

I think a good place for it would be in the "I'm Looking For..." forum.

I just designed a steel tractor tray for the back of my tractor. I stopped at this run down old shed in the next village, where I saw them welding up trucks.I showed the owner my design, and he gave a nod ' Can ' , so I went off and purchased the steel and had it delivered to his workshop..I told the missus to tell him I would be there to oversee the building of it..' no problem..well I have to say this guy, and his younger helper, were top ruddy notch. He had drill presses, a lathe, mig welders, you name it. Once they got the idea, and understood how I wanted constructed, they lashed into it, and I only had to butt in a couple of times over two days to show them how it attached to the tractor..he even sprayed it in four coats of rust protective paint..his price 3500bt..I think there might be a boom in tractor trays from now on, as they all have ricktery old trailers

Maaka , i agree there are some really talented engineers here . Must come from their culture of make do and mend .
Like we had to do years ago ! If you didnt fix it yourself , it didnt get fixed , because we could not afford to pay a repair shop .
I also think its a good idea to pool our collective information on good odds and ends shops , and repair shops .
However , im very loathed to share my information on this forum , because of the members we have here at the moment , and their attitudes .
Its taken me years to build good relationships with various suppliers and repair places , and i certainly would not burden any of them with some of our current posters .
Many i help , others i just know it would be shooting myself in the foot . its a shame , but true .

Maaka,
Got a shop like that near my place.
They do any welding that I want for a few baht.
Always pay extra.
Next time I come, they jump right on it.
No point buying a welder myself with service like that.
It's great.
