Well judging by the replies we tend to be in agreement that Zero Tolerance is the way forward, if that is the case, why may I ask do many assume one or two is Okay, seen almost daily at most restaurants by ALL nationalities while eating .

Those who do and agree with Zero tolerance are hypocrites in my book. Let us also not forget if you have had a skinfull the night before you are STILL OVER the limit the following morning . Many people forget that .

KP .. you will never get zero tolerance while the BIB escort the apprehended drunk driver to an ATM and also let them negotiate a price to make the issue go away at the point of testing poz.

I am aware of that but with the accusatory brigade just waiting for me to say anything ANTI Thai , I thought I would leave that alone, you are absolutely correct allowing a driver to pay the fine and then continue in his Drunken ( by Road Traffic Act standards ) state is nothing short of complicity in furtherance of the crime,
I wonder how many RTP Police have been summoned because an accident occurred after a stop check, fine for being drunk and allowed to continue there are .

Would you like me to drop yesterday’s off? The washing machine hasn’t started yet.

The flask is at least 3/4 full already if I’m honest. No trouble starting a fresh one after lunch.

My LUFC Golden Years is on 8 track

Probably ZERO because the bribe is paid cash in hand and would be emphatically denied by all involved

Agree but the name and nature of the stop should be recorded, they are supposed to be more accountable …….hopefully

If the donation is offered agreed to and accepted the 'stop" never happened .

Yes agreed , advice always have your phone on record and in your top pocket, RTP never know and you have everything on record. Always pays to be safe and cautious . An accident , God forbid might not be your fault BUT if they check and the other driver is clear, guess who will pay the bill and fine and and . Proof that you had been stopped by the Police a short while before and allowed to proceed while under the influence will assist your case. As they ARE DUTY BOUND TO STOP YOU DRIVING .

Well if you really think about it, IF you had been stopped, found to be over the limit and paid what was asked and THEN allowed to continue, there are a few points.
1 The Police are actively allowing you to continue Driving while under the influence that is against Thai Law.
2 If you then were involved in a NO fault accident and the Police attended and the other Party was stone cold sober , but you obviously were not , even though you had not committed any MOVING violation , you would be guilty .
Now I ask you, paying a further fine, possibly being banned and having to pay loads of money to the other party is OK in your book, despite your authorisation to drive drunk was sanctioned by the POLICE , a short while previously and you would NOT keep that evidence to put before the COURT . Okay your decision but risky.
