It's gone eerily quiet... apart from the desperate few on the cusp of the DT's, white-knuckling it on the back of their SWMBO's crotch-rocket as they race to the nearest mom n pop or 7 to get some in.

"Leio-leio cha!" they call while thinking, "Hurry up you dopey cow... you'll get a right good kicking if the Archa's out!"

You know who you are.

Just back from the Thai Supermarket in Nong Mek. Absolutely rammed with Thais buying for the smaller village shops around our area. No price gouging, a box of Chang still 580 Baht, big Lao Khow (for FIL) 100 Baht and bottle of Sang Som 275 Baht. Owners wife saying only stop selling on Wednesday for Big Buddha day. If you are being charged more than normal then after the initial panic buying you know who to boycott.

Wife needed to restock shop. Some horrendous queues (one saw vehicles triple parked opposite St. Mary's, leaving only one lane clear). Couldn't get Lao khao anywhere. Customers are very unhappy - may need to hire some muscle.

DM has decided (on another thread) that beer runs are non-essential.

One thing for sure and certain, these morons will NEVER catch me out again. I have cleaned out a secure area and fully intend to maintain at least a one month buffer permanently!
Can just hear all the "tea totelers and social engineers" up in arms again = love it.

Just bought 10 boxes of my beer and now have 12+ in stock. Let these brain dead morons proceed. Effin useless generals in the pockets of the true and trusted business people here. OK, not so squeaky clean 555555. Let the games continue!

I do worry about some of the bright ideas BD
Given that everyone seems to have been able to re stock their supplies throughout the "ban" without too much difficulty, the only thing it seems to have achieved is to stop gatherings outside ma/pa shops (and I'm assuming they continued in someones house/garden instead) and inconvenience some tourists who didn't realise that TIT and laws were made to be circumnavigated. Surely it would have been just as easy to say you can buy alcohol but cant consume it in public, it would have had exactly the same result without the confusion

YES and IMO beer runs are NOT ESSENTIAL .. wtf is wrong with that opinion ?? ..get it delivered less risk of infection adnobviously the government were correct to ban booze looking at this vid ..

after watching the link i can only comment on the social distancing respect shown by the savages therein .

Im trying to come up with a comparison with the vid Tam .. lets not forget this was a pallet of Leo    not the last few bags of rice and chicken that remain on planet Earth

What have idiot horders got to do with banning alcohol in Australia???

Gov was not scared to ban alcohol, it was never a policy in the first place.

My mate who was quarantined on his return to Perth said they apparently did have purchase quantity restrictions in WA for a spell but no outright bans.

I was not saying there was a the ban in Oz, what was spoken about was the panic buying
As i posted yesterday I did a beer run
that was in Kut Chap
I arrived at 11am the shop was packed
So my quess they were selling before 11am as trucks were already loaded up
and the boss had lots of reciepts in hand as he supervized the loading of trucks
The staff were already hot and sweaty by then
So I very much doubt that your story of the cops or army stopping Tesco selling early
As I know for a fact Tesco tills are run on a timer and alcohol cant be rang up before 11am nor between 2pm and 5pm
So keep your own stories straight

Yes well said most major Supermarkets including 7-11 's have programmed their Tills not accept Alcohol sales until the right time. However the So-called wholesalers do not , so loading up prior to 1100 hours is possible I presume.
