Still nothing official anywhere as far as I can tell
Then, hopefully will be from midnight tomorrow
10pm tonight, remember there is a curfew on as well.

It must be tonight.
Spoke to the missus today and advised our drunken orgies will be curtailed to just red wine sculling as grog shops will be closed after tonight.
She did the call around to all her alco girlfriends and word quickly got back that the word on the street is go get it now while you can.
150 Honda click was despatched and 2 boxes of warm chang and a 6 pack of cold ones were quickly sought from the local shop.
Just back on the bike with the daughter riding shotgun and safely delivered.
Testing samples as I write.
No real price gouging
600 bht a box or 50 baht a bottle.

Come August you'll all be regretting it :D

Alcohol definitely is one thing that can’t be classed in the hoarding model.
I would have got more like you but the missus and daughter are limited on a scooter.

The abandonment of alcohol prohibition in the U.S. was influenced by the loss of revenue by the federal government. I suspect that the Thai government will soon regret their loss of revenue due to the current ban.

Do Udon Thani residents still have recourse to a quick trip to the Laos border and back to replenish their wine and beer supply?

Dubai has just legalised alcohol home deliveries due to the tax losses being faced.

not sure the guy with the restaurant (Johnson?) is still there TJ ....... border closed, although I'm sure essentials like alcohol will get a "smooth passage"

Restocked again Thursday = a comfortable supply till 30th Apr and beyond --- so long as I can keep it hidden from my 25yo step daughter and her cousin. Both living at home now having been laid off from their jobs in Udon.

These two are lucky having families to go home too for support but one has to have feelings for the locals, in these hard times, who can see no way out. = Idiot politicians going out of their way to shut down local business for WHAT???? Udon hasn't had a reported new case of Covid-19 since the 5th April (if you can believe the juntas postings).

agree .. many decisions made seem to be knee jerk and in some locations unessesary..whilst i do agree with some closures imo the wrong places have been closed and too many issues left in a state of confusion.

Not sure i think last reported case in Udon was 27th March BDD but i may be wrong.

Thats the problem though BD .......... are they making the decisions based on what is being posted or what they are being told privately

Had a couple of friends who did not know about the Alcohol sales ban in Udon contact me.
I have checked all the websites in Nation, Bangkok Post and the official Govt website.

Nowhere is Udon mentioned as having a Alcohol ban except for a local Facebook page in Thai.

All Provinces which have bans are listed on the Govt website with the conditions attached and dates.

Makes you wonder about all the figures on the official websites if Udon is not officially notifying the Government.

Regardless of what has happened it would be interesting to find out the true state of the Alcohol ban as it is down to the individual Governor of that Province.

Can members confirm if Alcohol sales are still allowed in Nong Bua Lamphu, Nong Khai and Khon Kean at present in Supermarkets etc..

Non of these provinces are listed as no Alcohol sales.

I read somewhere Nong Khai has a ban but I'm not sure about the other provinces although DM says you can still buy in NBLP

I do not need to buy.
Have 4 cases of Chang & 4 bottles of Vodka.
Enough to last me at least 4 weeks.

The point of the question was to find out if the other Provinces are not informing the Government of the actual status
in the Province or is it only Udon.
We probably can all still buy from the local shops whilst stocks last in the villages

Jeez when they see how many driving fatalities will be avoided, because of this ban...I'm sure far fewer people will die from this China virus..

Maybe next year they will ban alcohol sales again over this period.

I guess the government does not believe the population has any self control....they need to be treated like uncivilized savages.
