Tropical storm Mangkhut 2018

Post by vincemunday » September 20, 2018, 7:00 am

Well I don't know about elsewhere but Ban Tad is taking a good soaking, my lawn looks like a lake in places and without drainage it'd be a lot worse, on the upside the missus won't need to water the garden.

The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.

looking at the TMD satellite maps its apparent that what we're seeing here is the long range effect of the storm not a direct hit. The storm itself was huge and headed into southeastern China. It is petering out now. What we're seeing here is monsoonal rains pulled off the Andaman see to the west of Thailand by the rotating winds of Typhoon Mangkhut over the South China Sea.. If the storm had driven straight west over the South China sea into southeast Asia it would have been tremendously worse...http://www.sattmet.tmd.go.th/satmet/mergesat.html

My builder called up for a rainy day off, much to my surprise he's turned up anyway, he's not a typical Thai builder thank heavens.

But, but I thought that nice Dr Richard Head from the research dept at some Boston UNi said that if I had a bonni twice a year to burn my garden rubbish, I'd wreck the ozone layer and change the worlds weather =;
