Help Hanging WallPaper
Help Hanging WallPaper
Hi Guys,
As the title says, I'm looking for a decorator, somebody to hang some wallpaper. Initially, I just want the kitchen doing, which is quite small. If that job works out then they can re-paper the entire house + paint the skirting boards a little later in the year. Anyone know of anybody good at this sort of thing?
Going rate (whatever that is?) paid of course.
Many thanks.
Scottie

Any reason that you dont want to do it yourself?
Re: Help Hanging WallPaper
Just my penny's worth , I've done a lot of paper hanging in my time , (not here ) i have seen some results here , were due to the high humidity and heat GAP"S appear eventually between the joints ,my advice would be ,don't do it , but if you've set your mind on it , then go for the expensive paper that's not prone to shrinking ,

Re: Help Hanging WallPaper
I guess for two reasons. The first is the same reason that I take my car to the car wash, or get a gardener to cut the grass and trim the hedges - labor costs in LoS are (unlike in the West) very cheap, so why do something yourself when, for not a lot somebody else can do it. Second reason is that I have never hung wall paper and wouldn't really know where to start. I'm looking for a real professional finish, so if you know anybody who does know how to hang paper properly let me know.
Cheers
Scottie
Re: Help Hanging WallPaper
most shops who sell wallpaper here also install it , (labor is included the price ) and they do have skilled workers for it ,as do they know how to prepare and clear the walls before apply ,(not same like abroad)we did have wallpaper everywhere in all our homes , last shop we used was at the old lotus junction ,were they are building the bridge , coming out of udon city , second shop before the traffic lights ,if it is still there? , wallpaper isn't cheap and if you buy the descent one , vinyl ,washable it will last for many years , oldest one in former home us now 18 years and still looking perfect , another option is as we did in our present home , is tiling the walls what is cheaper and also long lasting , all inside walls of our present home are tiled ,because easy to clean and i also do not like to paint ...good luck
