Udon Immigration
Re: Udon Immigration
Just finished getting my one-year retirement extension and multiple re-entry. 22 minutes from walking into the office until walking out. Great job!
Re: Udon Immigration

Re: Udon Immigration
I have a friend from UK staying with me at present. He has a 'retirement' visa valid for three months which expires on 28th Feb and wishes to extend his stay in Thailand until 09 March.
Today we went ti Udon Immigration to request a ten day visa extension. The immigration officer regretted that he was unable to assist with this ten day extension - however, he could give my friend an additional two months extension!!
All completed in less than thirty minutes. TIT.

May I ask what your friend paid, Bonanza?

Re: Udon Immigration
Pass book should be updated on the day of visit, according to there law you are supposed to show a map from you residence to immigration can be hand drawn.
Re: Udon Immigration
Good tip on the map.
When I brought a nice computer drawn map to scale, they didn't want it. 555 I had to hand-draw the map. Never understood why and didn't ask. Just did it. 555

Re: Udon Immigration
Your friend probably had a Non-O single entry visa which was used/cancelled the day he entered Thailand. He was then given a 3 month permission to stay (this is not a visa)
There is no 10 day extension so the official was correct he could not give that only a 60 day extension of an entry with a Non-O or Non-BToday we went ti Udon Immigration to request a ten day visa extension. There is only a 7 day period given if the extension is refused

In my posts all fees and requirements are the standard R&R but TIT and a brown envelope can make incredible changes YMMV.

Re: Udon Immigration
Over the past several months I have heard from a number of American expats that their Income Affidavit is accepted at Udon Immigration for their retirement extensions, but they were also asked to see their bank books in order to validate the flow of monthly income that is claimed on the Affidavit. In 8 years I have never been asked to see anything more than the Income Affidavit. Last year the Immigration Officer asked if I had my bank book with me and I told her "no" and she let it go at that. I'm just wondering if they have changed their policy and are requiring more proof of income, or does the procedure just vary from expat to expat, day to day or officer to officer. I would have no problem substantiating my income, but trying to track it through my bank books would be very complicated and I’d rather avoid getting into a lengthy discussion with an impatient Immigration Officer on that day.

Colossians 2:8-10...See to it that no one takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception, which are based on human tradition and the spiritual forces of the world rather than on Christ. For in HIM dwells all the fullness of the GODHEAD bodily; and you are complete in HIM, who is the head of all principality and power.

Re: Udon Immigration
Rarely, do they check in CM (in case you are interested). Appearances are everything, here. No doubt, someone looking like a bum will be more likely to have to show proof. Older expats not being able to pay hospital bills is a continual problem. Yes, happens to the much younger backpackers with the bike accidents, but they didn't file a sworn affidavit claiming significant income.semperfiguy wrote: ↑February 23, 2018, 3:49 pmOver the past several months I have heard from a number of American expats that their Income Affidavit is accepted at Udon Immigration for their retirement extensions, but they were also asked to see their bank books in order to validate the flow of monthly income that is claimed on the Affidavit. I tried to give a 200 baht tip at Udon Immigration on Thursday but the officer said, in a loud voice, NO! 500 baht.
