I'm very sad to report the death of Jim Fisher, formerly from Chicago. He met his Thai wife in Chicago where she worked in a Thai restaurant many years ago. He had been retired and living in Thailand a number of years when he started frequenting our restaurant and we became friends. Jim had battled colon cancer for years. I think his first surgery was more than 20 years ago. Early last year he returned to the states for another round of chemo therapy. He only returned to Thailand a few months ago. I'm still trying to find out information about a service. There's no answer at the 2 numbers I have for him, one of which is a land line to the house. Only limited info on his FB page.
Jim's wife on the right.

Just came from Jim's house and spoke with his wife, Taum. He passed on Friday. Cremation and services tomorrow, Tuesday, 4PM at Wat Pho ti somporn (hope that's a good enough spelling). It's the temple close to the government hospital and across the street from VT noodle. His wife hopes his friends will come. No envelopes to be passed out.

Sorry I had not seen him lately but knew him to be one of the good guys in town, very nice & humble gentleman, we talked every so often at the school where his grandchildren and my son attend. Aloha, Jim...
