Tesco Lotus Nadee goes to the birds
I too have been hoping for a discussion about birds here for a long time. I'm no expert, but I've been birding in SE Asia for ten years now. I know most of the local birds, but not all (it takes an expert to ID some of them). I've done a lot of birding around NE Thailand, and the only other birders I've ever run into were from Bangkok! I have property with ponds and a lake east of town, I've ID'd 40 species of birds there. I've started photographing birds too.

Here are a few more photos of the female white shama getting ready to feed her young.....along with a day-3 photo of the young chicks......feathers becoming more prominent. They'll be out of the nest in a week or so.

These Shamas are neat birds, you're lucky to have them. I was sitting still photographing squirrels in the jungle a couple weeks ago, and a female Shama landed about 3m from me, she was collecting twigs for a nest. She was pretty tame.

What is the name of this bird, quite a pretty bird. Don't know if it is common, haven't noticed him before.
I see tictoc in this thread had shown one in his photos.
Now the house landscaping is on going and trees are being planted we have different species coming in.
Good to see nature returning after the land was for many many years rice paddies.
Only problem is removing the sparrows and indian minor or starling who swarm to our yard, they just chase other birds birds away.

Link gave me a good indication of their nesting requirements.
