Anyone recommend a good dermatolagist.
ive some small blisters around my neck which are quite painful , i work outdoors and wouldnt mind getting these checked out for skin cancers or at least put a name to them and advise treatment, i went to AEK years ago but with a different problem and wasnt all that impressed with the dermatoligist downstairs there,
She just wanted to sell me some cream that looked like the stuff they use as skin "lightener"
Thanks

Lao- miner,
If you don't want to go to Bangkok, I received good advice and service, from the lady dermatologist, at Wattana Hospital resulting in the clearing up of extensive and very irritating spots and rash on my chest recently.
Cannot recall her name, but my wife simply 'phoned the hospital and made an apointment for me to see the dermatologist. Seemingly, like most specialists in Udonthani, she only attends the hospital part time, and by appointment. Good Luck.

i was in bangkok a couple of weeks ago for a couple of days but unfortunately the excitement was all to much for me and i got a bit carried away with some excessive drinking and plain forgot to go see a dermatologist , while i was there though i did meet a girl called noy or maybe it was lek who was very sympathetic, but worked in another more specialised industry LOL,
I saw a dermatoligist at Bumrangrad a few years ago for a dark blemish on my nose and cheek ( sunspots apparently) she managed to talk me into spending about 14K to have the one on my hooter Lasered of , Bloody painful when she injected the nose and even more so when the lasering started , The end result was no more brown spot on the nose but a small crater that is still there to this day , The girls think twice about calling me Hansum man now when i walk past the cowshed even though i bare an uncanny resemblence to my avatar, Anyway , Her indoors has still got the hump that i didnt take her to bangkok so i doubt i would get a Leave pass for that, reckon i will give Wattana a go,
Mathusalah80 can you recall what the doc gave you to fix your spots and rash was it creams or medication sounds like a similar problem to me
Cheers

I always grab every leave pass I can especially if it means a trip to BKK and possibly a detour to Patts.
My last visit to Dr Nussra was two moles cut from my back, four stiches in each and three spots removed from my arm wath lazer, total cost 12,000 baht. She examined my whole body, quite a few expat mates see her also, she knows her stuff, I have seen other doctors over my time here and they were all hopeless when it comes to melanoma, this doc is good in her field, its not worth taking the risk with melanoma.

Hi Lao-miner,
The telephone number of hospital is: 042-325-999.
She, (the Dermatologist), gave me both a thorough going over, and a somewhat extensive cross examinatio on both my past medical history AND my activities! Based upon my limited research knowledge I think she was concerned to exclude the first possibility that the rash (splotches) were not indicative of one of the first signs of the onset of HIV!!!!!!!!
Her conclusions were that I was suffering from some form of mild allergy, probably brought about by excessive pirspiring/sweating and noted my chest skin particularly was very dry. We identified that the sweating was the likely origin of the problem plus possibly the plants in my garden. This because I had been carrying out a lot of work in the garden over a three week period, incluing removing a umber of plant-cum-trees my Thai workers warned me caused rash.
The Dermatologist prescribed some antibiotic cream, "UREA 10% in 0.1% TA 10g(AA.UREA)" are the details appearing on the label which I have managed to find. Also provided were some tablets "predNISOIone 5mg" an anti biotic for consumption 3 times after meals. She also prescribed EUCERIN (dry skin) to be applied twice a day, after cleaning the area. I elected to purchase this independently!
In actual fact, old codger that I am, I purchased, in lieu of the Eucerin, my old triwed and trusted friend of many decades, namely 'calamine lotion' ,(cannot guarantee spelling). Religiously every day, twice a day, my wife cleaned the area and then applied the Lotion liberally. It always gave me blessed relief from itching and, in my prejudiced opinion of many years, I think ; but, as I said, I am prejudiced!
What might also be of interest is that I experienced a not entirely dissimilar, but not so persistent a rash some years ago after spending 3/4 nights in a hotel in Lampau in the North. The source at that time was identified as some type of bed bug/mite picked up from the mattress, in the hotel. Possibly the source of your problem? Been sleeping in any 'strange' places l;ately? On that occasion I was provided with some type of liquid 'cleaner/detergent to be rubbed in and thereafter some type of antibiotic cream. The spots/rash cleared up within about 5 days.
Sorry to have 'gone on' a bit, but wanted to provide whatever persoal experience details I could, to be helpful. Good Luck.
PS. My total Bill at Wattanaapproimated Bt. 2500.

I want to tell a very bad experience at this dermatologist's Hospital....aek udon hospial .
last month after having been found to have small red spots on the skin of the left leg, I went aek udon hospital because they have a dermatologist .... diagnosis was infection from the air and from the period of cold here in udon thani ...i had to take antibiotics and creams .. and every week checkup .... the fact is that it never healed ... every week i changed the medication in a month ....i spent 16,000baht in AEK udon and i have not solved nothing because the incompetent diagnosis of the dermatologist was wrong....i feel very angry with her.
The wrong medication i have caused swelling of the face.
3 days ago i finally found a clinic with a good dermatologist and she just saw me told me you have a fungus on the skin.
After 3 days of treatment i am already better but the swelling on the face is seen that i have taken so many wrong medicine and the liver should heal.
My final thought is that she is very incompetent and the hospital must take many foreign money....dear aek udon ---- you.

It appears to be next to the flower market.
