Re: British Marriage Certificate Problem?

Thanks for your input.
It would seem that I have been lucky over the years, and that Captain Erkchri was correct in his decision. I'll now get my own marriage certificate appropriately validated in case it is needed in future. :D

British Marriage Certificate Problem?

My experiences with Udon Immigration Office have previously been very positive. We have a British friend and his Thai wife staying with us for a holiday over the winter. In UK he requested a four month visa, but was given a 90 day visa for being married to a Thai. He was told that he could get a 30 ...

Re: Leather dressing, oil or grease.

For deep penetration the best is probably 'Connolly Hide Dressing' used in the renovation of leather car seats etc. I don't know anywhere in Thailand that sells it. Available on UK Ebay - perhaps some kind soul might offer to bring you a jar out? :D

Re: Low Budget Village Build For In-Laws

From the plan that looks to be about 6m x 9m (which works out about Bht 3,500 per sq metre). I would love firm details from anyone who has built such a place looking like the picture. :D :D And might be willing to come and build one for me. :D

A 'First' at Tesco

I have just returned home from one of my thousand plus visits to Tesco. At the checkout my bill came to Bt 770.25 and I tendered a 1,000 baht note. The change due was Bt 229.75 but I was actually given Bt 230 :D :D :D This has NEVER happened to me before. There is usually scrabbling around to find t...

It may be that your licence has been renewed up to the date that your present passport expires? Check the dates. :D

Photoman - try the Fuji shop at the traffic lights next to the prison. They (used to) print all sizes on to many different surfaces.

In 1914 Britain went to war for the right to determine its own way, and not to be part of a greater Europe dominated by the Germans under Kaiser Willhelm. In 1939 Britain went to war for the right to determine its own way, and not to be part of a greater Europe dominated by the Germans under Adolf H...

Re: dogs can smell malaria from socks of infected

I would imagine the cost of the research in Milton Keynes (excluding the cost of a specialised dog handler etc) exceeds the cost of a blood test for everyone in the Gambia (population approx 2million). Indeed, the cost of the needed pair of socks for everyone probably costs more than the cost of a b...

Re: Brexit and Leadership.

With their usual contempt for the electorate, the bully boys who control British politics and industry expected a 'NO' vote to leaving the EU. Such was their surprise at the 'YES' vote they are doing everything in their power to try and change this, especially in terms of of screwing up the Brexit n...

What used to be known as the CRB is now called BDC (Basic Disclosure Certificate) and if you have a UK residential address you can apply online - takes about 7-10 days. :D

Statto, - I don't know. :( However, the paper licence is no longer valid (went out about 3/4 years ago), so if you don't have a 'photo licence' then maybe you don't actually have a licence. It may be worth checking out with the DVLA. :D

Re: Renewing UK driving license ,

UK Photo licences need to be renewed every 10 years. Quote from UK Gov website," Motorists must renew their photocard licence when it expires. If they fail to renew their licence and supply a photo that is a recent and true likeness, they will be breaking the law and may have to pay a fine of up to ...

Re: Yet another school shooting in the US

Tamada, I have admitted that I don't 'NEED a gun, but you still haven't told me why I SHOULDN'T have one if I want. I hope that you are not implying that because someone likes guns he is likely to want to shoot someone? If NEED becomes a criteria for possession of something then it would be a poor w...
