Re: How to have Wi-Fi without using Huawei

US Efforts To Block Huawei Gives China An Advantage The U.S. also tried to press the big European countries to shun Huawei. So far it failed. Germany resisted U.S. pressure to not use Huawei stuff. It fears delays in 5G deployment should it ban Huawei. Yesterday Britain also pushed back: Britain is ...

Re: How to have Wi-Fi without using Huawei

The U.S. government was all in a panic back around 2005 when IBM morphed into Lenovo built in China. Repeated technical analysis showed no hidden backdoors built into any hardware or software in those PC's.. I'd say this is much the same.. If the "5 eyes" mob which includes NSA and GCHQ haven't fou...

Re: This, That and Another Thing

I for one use Quicken, and every ฿ and $ are tracked in 8 different accounts. So when I posted, I checked last months expenses, and since no special expenses in Jan, those not included of course. To come to my total had to add in a US credit card, which runs somewhere between $300 and $400 a month, ...

Re: How to have Wi-Fi without using Huawei

Huawei tests Europe’s independence The UK National Cyber Security Centre has concluded that "there are ways to limit the risks from using Huawei in future 5G ultra-fast networks," according to two people familiar with the matter which has not been made public, The Financial Times reported. The artic...

Re: 800.000 bank deposit retirement ext - Can it be in a fixed deposit account?

Beware of people that claim to have friends in high places. The Problem with most is when their Governments tell them that the sky is Orange, they believe it. Even though when they look out their dirty windows, because they forgot to pay the cleaning Lady, they can see that it is blue. They then bla...

Re: This, That and Another Thing

Thank you. We have to rent a place. Let me clear my mind on this. I was reading that I can obtain a house book (yellow?) through the assistance of the landlord. We will not be able to afford to purchase a home again. Not sure if you can get yellow house book through the assistance of the landlord. ...

Re: This, That and Another Thing

I have been waiting a long time for my SSR yearly increases to bring me to the 40k monthly requirement to obtain a 1 year marriage visa. Now it has hit the goal but with the fluctuation in exchange rates my income brings me just over 40k or just under 40k monthly. I expect the xchange rate to go do...

Re: Plumbing question

I mention this because leaks can be difficult to find. I have no idea where all that water went. Don't know his site, but if like mine and many others the water PVC pipe going to the tank is maybe 20M long and only buried maybe 20C. Doesn't take much to dig up and check. Should be able to find some...

Re: 800.000 bank deposit retirement ext - Can it be in a fixed deposit account?

So in your post
enough instances of expats skipping out on hospital charges.
How would a bank account stop that? Seems to me, before skipping out one would drain bank account. Maybe I am missing something.

Re: Plumbing question

Thanks for the comments guys. In the interest of "harmony", I will replace the ball valve tomorrow (worth it just to save my ears) before starting on a leak hunt. Havent seen anything that looked like a wet patch in the garden but search not helped by yesterdays downpours  Do you have a shut ...

Re: 800.000 bank deposit retirement ext - Can it be in a fixed deposit account?

Would think since most of the world has free health care, except Americans, most would return if that sick. Plus don't think 800K or $25K US dollars would get one much in health care in the states or even here. Just a thought, think its all just BS By the time you've had a serious vehicle wreck or ...
