Re: Missing Boys in Caves.

What I hope the Thais learn from all of this…. Does anyone really believe that most Thais would ordinarily give two hoots about these kids and the coach? To most, these 13 people are outside their circle of friends, relatives and associates, so their lives just don’t matter to most under normal cir...

Re: freedom to marry

Well for a start the american one is simply a sworn affadavit no proof of actual status is required, whereas the Uk embassy requires written verifiable proof of your status. Big difference .

Re: R.I.P.PHil

Was in the mortuary on other business today and was surprised to see his remains are still listed as being in there, apparently he didn't have a legal Thai wife and the delay is caused by contacting the next of kin in the UK .Maybe a heads up for those who have just had the village style wedding .

Re: Experince with loan shark

now saying 80 K and 10 K a month for eight months That does rather suggest that they're making it up as they go along. Sounds more like family members trying it on than 'professional" lenders. All the the big boys in my area give very strict precise agreements which are definitely non negotiable .Ma...

Re: Experince with loan shark

It is my experience that these guys would only loan a large amount like that , against some collaterel, so I would check any possessions you have , cars , bikes etc to see if you still have the log books .

Will onviously be of interest to both immigration and US embassy for possible links to people trafficking. Not the sort of thing UM wants to be caught up in I would have thought.

Re: Proud to be English

interestingly there is a new topic "why won't she marry me" in the relationship forum just below this one .this illustrates quite clearly the difficulty in understanding the Thai way of thinking . It is so different to ours that it almost makes it impossible to totally understand them, actually it's...

Re: Proud to be English

Serious question, are there many farang that refuse to assimilate, I would say a good 99% of people i've met here do, i would say the vast majority at least try to speak some Thai and are respectful of Thai culture. Well I do my best but it isn't easy when after ten years living here I am still ref...

Re: Don't forget Sir Winston Churchill tomorrow

Unless I am very mistaken we have a day set aside each year to enable those of us lucky enough to have been born after the World Wars to learn about and remember family members who fell whilst serving their country. That day is REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY (The nearest Sunday to November 11th). If we are to ...

Re: Don't forget Sir Winston Churchill tomorrow

"Good grief! Give it a rest will ya! Signed, a proud Englishman." =D> =D> =D> I wonder of the negative repliers how many were alive during the war and remember the horrors inflicted on the civilian population by the aggressors. Lest we forget is very appropiate, but how do you forget being buried a...

Re: Proud to be English

Bit hard on the Scots I thought .......... considering THE INGLIS (Old English for Englishmen) were a Scottish clan. I have never met a Scot with the desire to be English , nor vise versa, not withstanding Hadrians contrbution, our two nations have for many years been in friendly rivalry both on th...

Re: Is she genuine?

I think the obvious flaw in the Op was "she visited him in Europe twice" Certainly not the UK because her credentials, bar girl , no job or money, wouldn't get her past the door in the Embassy visa section and even if she got a shenigan visa she still couldn't get over the water to the UK.

Proud to be English

http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-44142843 Interesting survey, apparently the older generation are more so than the younger ones . I find the survey to be incorrect as it includes many who are definitely not English. They work on the false premise that all the immigrants from around the world who h...

Worrying about a 37year old man? Seems he's old another and presumably wise enough to know what he is doing and the consequences.Leave him be , he is obviously enjoying the ride.Wonder why you chose Udon Map to post your tale of woe when it all seemed to happen in Phuket . :-"

Not sure if I would describe those massive mammaries as eye candy myself, being a more than a handful as a waste, man but this topic does raise a further question. When I was in Udon for a while , many moons ago before the new centra was built, I enjoyed many a quite beer in the food hall upstairs i...
