Re: Shopping Today

Thanks for the update on the Tesco brand products.I will be a willing consumer. Also it's interesting to get information from the sois regarding how business is going. It appears to be the exact opposite to what TAT and associated organisations are sprouting. [/quote] It is always good news to hear ...

Semperfiguy hits the nail right on the head here. Likewise I have stopped trying to be courteous, there is simply no point. My wife could not believe the polite way drivers in Scotland behaved, when we lived there.

Re: SetTop Box or Media Player?

Simply disconnect your HDMI cable, and take the laptop with you. I found my STB to be very poor to set up and use, it has been languishing in a cupboard for 3 years. There is, I believe, a HDMI gadget which has wireless connectivity, though I have not personally seen one here. I am with HD pRIME and...

Re: Brexit domino effect - EU28 Kantar poll

The British people are very fortunate that the Brussels cabal doesn't presently have the EU army they desperately desire. If they had such a force they would use the bullet and the bayonet to invade upstart nations and severely punish them for any secession attempts. I say this as in the 1860's the...

Re: shingles jab is it worth it ?

I had an episode with Shingles whilst serving in Germany, I was literally crawling up the wall in pain. Thankfully the MO recognized it immediately, and prescribed treatment. One week off work confined to the Mess, no contact with others. I would take the jab if offered.

Re: It was never about Europe. Brexit is Britain’s reckoning with itself

The UK will always be a significant player in world affairs. It's still an attractive place to live and work, except for the ex-pats who desire a warmer climate in retirement. ;) The biggest threat it faces comes from within. The rise of nationalism and the xenophobic nature of it's rhetoric is com...

Village Bin Collections.

Last week, our Tessaban (sp.), removed each and every bin in the village. Bins had previously been collected, almost on a daily basis, an excellent service. Plastic bottles, glass etc was collected by an old man pedaling his tri-cycle. Now with no bins, litter and debris has started to accumulate, e...

Spot on move by the Home Office, an appeal will no doubt follow, interesting to see who will fund it.

Re: Returning Jihadi Brides.

She and her Dutch husband should apply for Syrian citizenship, she should not be permitted to return. There are reports in the Uk press, that if she succeeds in reaching a British Consulate outside Syria, that she would then be repatriated. If these reports have any credence, then some of the Uk exp...
