Re: Camping chair

Not camping chairs but we got some pretty sturdy folding camp stools at Makro some time back. Not sure if Makro still carries them but they were available in the past. Good luck.

Re: The HORN

Mrs. Shado says honking the horn is just considered to be impolite mai soo phaap (ไม่สุภาพ). Apparently, it's acceptable under certain circumstances but generally Thais save the horn honking for driving past the wat or a shrine. Yes, I know the explanation seems incongruous considering all of the ot...

Re: Where to buy remote controlled gate opener?

He has an office on the ring road pretty much opposite from Tesco Lotus Extra. If it's Chokchai Gates you're talking about I'm not sure if the current intersection construction has impacted his shop or not. We've received good service from them. If the shop isn't open due to the construction these ...

Re: learning the thai language

These are the jars that made me think they may have given the name to the clavicle. The rim looks a bit like a collarbone. That's just my take on it though.

Re: learning the thai language

A while back my wife had a slight injury to her right clavicle, not broken or cracked but quite painful. We went to see Dr. Chatchi on Si Suk Rd. and he took care of the problem. It was then that I learned that the Thai word for clavicle was gra duuk hai bplaa raa . I assumed it must have to do with...

Swimming goggles are sold the swimwear section at Supersports in Central Plaza, they might also carry earplugs for swimming. Maybe worth checking.

Re: International BBQ Buffet Night - Centara

The wife selected the Centara Int'l BBQ for our Valentine's Day dinner. We won't be making a return visit. Poor selection, poor preparation and not particularly fresh seafood during our experience. Other's may have a different opinion but we'll certainly give it a pass in the future.

Re: Pharmacy Advice

One option for pricing: Bottom floor of Central Plaza.......Boots, Watsons and P&F Pharmacies......all within feet of each other. My experience is P&F offers the best prices......but then Forte beats them. YFI: P&F Pharmacy has moved to a new location. Still at Central Plaza, same level, but they a...

St. Mary's does have some accommodation for some students. Our neighbors had to make an extended trip to the States and their daughter stayed at the school while they were away.

Yes, Dawson played one season for the Texans and moved with the team to Kansas City when they became the Chiefs. He played another 13 years for the Chiefs. He also played for Pittsburg and Cleveland, a total of 19 years all together. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1987.

Re: Patriots defeat Chiefs in OT!

By the way, once, just once, a CFL team beat a team from the U.S. when the Hamilton Tiger-Cats defeated the Buffalo Bills, 38-21. That was in 1961 and the Bills were in the American Football League (AFL) at the time. In 1966 the AFL and NFL merged and became the National Football League (NFL) with ...

Re: Patriots defeat Chiefs in OT!

Born and raised in Missouri I've been a Chiefs fan since 1963, when they relocated from Dallas. Held season tickets until my work required relocation to another state. It's been decades since Kansas City fans have been as enthused and hopeful as they are right now. Andy Reid has put together a stron...

Re: learning the thai language

Pak boong (morning glory) is one of my favorite stir fried Thai vegetables. I'm pretty sure that ผักบุ้งไฟแดง gets it name from the flames that are created while being cooked in the wok. I'm not so sure about ผักบุ้งเหิรฟ้า, could it be that when it's finished cooking it gets a little "air time" whe...

Christopher Dodd and Barney Frank are t...

I checked with the missus and she says the sign means that if your already have your order and then decide you want something more or different you have to start back at the end of the line to put in your additional request.
