I found the DIY section limiting but Beyond Cafe was very comfortable. But there's better tasting coffee elsewhere.

Heard tonight the 500 Baht Letter of Residency is alive and well at Udon Imm despite being a free service. Got ya by the short and curlys !! and they know it I encountered this a couple of years ago. Stayed in Loei for a year and as you say it's a very pleasant city.

The locals were very friendly and has an airport with flights to bkk.
