Re: Guitars (3) and Amp at a Great Value

Are the guitars still available? The fender classic vibe is available along with the boss amp. The 2 acoustic guitars have been sold. I do have a Yamaha APX 600 acoustic/electric (new from Yamaha for 2018) for sale, I bought it 3 months and am asking 10000 Baht paid 12500 for it. I can include the ...

Re: Income Letter

I am aware of the lying, cheating, stealing ability of Thai women. However, I have been married for 12 years and I have had her open a bank account in her name only. There is a fair amount for her to live on for 2+ years after I finish life's journey. I told her if she spends it now, I wish her luck...

Re: Income Letter

I have given my Thai wife my PIN # and told her upon my death (the same day or the very next day) to transfer the money in my account to an account in her name via ATM. I think this can be done as a one time transfer. I was not aware of the power-of attorney form so I think this would be a good back...

Re: I'm looking for a treadmill-must be good condition

I have a treadmill from Marathon It is in new condition. I stopped using it because I got an injury when lifting weights. I bought it from the shop across from the Mazada dealer on Phosi Road. Works great, has many modes. You can stop in the Marathon shop and see the model, it is model # 460. I can ...

Re: Income Letter

Useful info from Thaivisa: If you have a US SSA direct deposit, the FIRST CONCERN is to find out if you are set up for IAT format or not. The easy way is to go direct to your Bangkok Bank branch. Have them pull up your accounts on their computer, then pull up the most recent direct deposit transact...

Re: Income Letter

SSA benefit payments that are sent overseas from within the US need to be in IAT format so the question remains, are the SSA benefits being sent to BKK in NY considered domestic ACH transfers or are they considered payments overseas which required IAT format. I asked the SSA in Manila that very ques...

Re: Income Letter

One thing I just though of as I was writing concerning SSA benefit funds may be considered a domestic ACH transfer because it is going to BKK in NY. It looks like I have to look into further.

Re: Income Letter

. . . I have decided to go for the 800000 in a Thai bank because of the uncertainty after 01 Jan. 2019. I will have a tight budget for the next 7 months but at least it will be worth it rather than waiting on Immigration clarification as to whether they will accept 65000 monthly in bank. . . . Base...

Re: Income Letter

From another site Just stopped in Immigration in Pathum Thani. As of 1 Jan 2019. Only way to renew a retirement visa is to have 800,000 in a Thai bank for 3 month in a single (your name only) account. If joint account with spouse, the amount doubles. No monthly pay records or other documentation wi...

Re: Income Letter

I do wonder if we'll ever receive any further written guidance from Immigration and even if yes, it's never going to be comprehensive enough to answer all situations. I agree that it's really not good enough that we may have to hope word of mouth through forums like this proves reliable and doesn't...

Re: Income Letter

I have had a reply from the British Embassy to my 'moan' letter. I was hoping it might nail a few things down, but it really only tells us what we know already. The vagueness, at present, remains and we have to rely on Immigration for accurate, clear information. Oh hell. Dear Mr Davis Thank you fo...

Re: Income Letter

Forgot to mention, I hope that the issue of the April 01 2019 format change from ACH to ICH is brought to the attention of the Bangkok Immigration Department from the powers-that-be in the various Embassy's in Bangkok because after all it is an important consideration for retirees that Bangkok Bank...

Re: Income Letter

What is stated on the immigration webpage: Must have an amount of at least 800,000 THB in an account in Thailand for no less than three months prior to the application for a visa . Leads me to ask; (a) What if you have a visa already and a number of extensions, do you still need the money in a Thai ...

Re: Income Letter

I've never been under the impression that my embassy is here to support me. I'd guess the expat community falls way down the list of important duties for the embassy. Parrot, I think it's always been a foregone conclusion that our government is not keen on its citizens living abroad and spending th...

Re: Income Letter

1. There's nothing carved in stone yet. May not ever be, but things haven't completely filtered down to local immigration offices. We are not going to get many answers there yet. I've been and asked and had some Thai contacts ask for me. Lots of hems and haws. 2. Taking advice in here is good to kn...

Re: Income Letter

On either visa extension they want printouts of your bank book . So why cant they use this as proof of monies coming from abroad . In my book it shows transfers from abroad with a different code , for roughly the same amount and roughly the same date every month . Just a thought , but honestly , i ...

Re: Income Letter

I don't know...I was just looking at the various posts and saw this one on Thaivisa. Believe the topic heading was US Embassy to stop income verifications and this particular post was a new one on page 142 or thereabouts. I'm at the Bangkok bank now and the gal said no problem getting a letter veri...

Re: Income Letter

So what happens to married chaps who get over 40k per month but dont have 400k in a bank or those who are retired who get over 65k per month but dont have 800k in the bank ? There is no definite answer to your question about income at the moment, we can only hope that there is something more in the...
