Bubba's Bar & Grill

Hey Bubba I have been living in Udon for the past year and I have yet to find a restaurant that serves a quality macaroni & cheese dish. I have not seen your menu so I am inquiring if you have this on your menu. I know good cheddar cheese is hard to come buy in Thailand unless you are willing to pay...

Bangkok Hospital Udon Thani

Hello! After reading the experiences of members on this topic, choosing a hospital is not going to be an easy task. Although, I am leaning toward Wattana and the Military hospitals. Too many negatives concerning AEK. And I do agree that a topic should be started to hear of in-hospital experiences bo...

Bangkok Hospital Udon Thani

Thank you Khun Paul for the advice. I too have heard Wattana Hospital is good some tell me better than AEK. The Administrator I dealt with there for pre-registration was pleasant and efficient. And my lady has her Thai health insurance there. I also heard the military hospital is good but many expat...

Bangkok Hospital Udon Thani

I would like to hear of experience(s) when medical care was/is needed at Bangkok Hospital. When I lived in Jomtien, I spoke with many expats concerning the best hospital(s) in the area for medical care. I received reviews of personal experiences ranging from dreadful (would rather see a veterinarian...

Is a Letter from Bank Required for Annual Visa Extension

In October, I have to extend my retirement visa which will be the first time in Undon for me. I have gone to Chonburi in the past which does not require a letter from bank or even copies of bank book(s) if I had letter from Embassy verifying income. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has ext...

Extension of Retirement Visa Since Closer Scrutiny Annouced

I need to extend my O-A retirement visa next month (first time in Udon), prior extensions in Pattaya. I would like to hear from those who have gone though this process since the new "Chief of Immigration" announced to his staff that they need to be more vigilant in the renewal processing of Visas be...

Update on shipping from the US

This may be the wrong post to reply too but I am in need of advice on how to send a letter to a P.O. Box in the US. I have had success with EMS in the past but I have been informed by the PO that they will no longer ship to a PO Box in the US and many other countries. The person I spoke with showed ...

Hospital Registration is a good idea ahead of time

Hello

May I ask why you did not register (maybe not possible) at the Military Hospital on Route 2 near University. I have read of good experiences there and the prices are reasonable. However, as you say, it is a matter of opinion.

Loud Music near Bansansaran (Lake Garden)

Hello All and thank you for sharing your experiences concerning the blaring hideous music. I think what bothers me most is the total disregard that people doing this; have for others, especially those who have to get up early for work. Again, this isn't just here, it is everywhere in Thailand. I do ...

Loud Music near Bansansaran (Lake Garden)

I live in the area of Bansansaran (Lake Garden) and Private Park Villa. 3 to 4 nights a week and certainly weekends, there is very loud music playing from 10 pm to 6 am non-stop. It is techno-with a very loud bass that can vibrate walls. The problem I have (not that I can do anything about it) is lo...

upon Death

I agree with maaka that one cannot predict the future of our health or the manner in which we may die (in most cases) when we are preparing a Last Will. Some may be given a "heads-up if terminally ill or, some other immediate life-threatening condition. But for most of us we only think in terms of a...

upon Death

Thank you all for some sound advice based upon some of your personal experiences, it has eliminated the stress my lady had concerning an autopsy in Bangkok (unless of course something appears to be a foul in the minds of the police). Anyone have experience with an ambulance service in terms of cost....

upon Death

Thank you all for the quick response to my question. I was under the impression that all deaths of foreigners outside a hospital required an autopsy which is only performed at a police designated hospital in Bangkok. From the response here I guess that is not true and hopefully because I am old (mid...

upon Death

Hi all! I am new to Udon Thani and this forum. I hope to have a quiet stay here with my Thai, lady for a long period of time after spending 5 years in Jomtien/Pattaya. I read all the posts made in this topic and it contains very good information. The one unanswered question for me is; if I die outsi...
