Re: Big increase in air fares
I was recently able to book 3 return tickets Melbourne - Bkk for about 9000b each, on sale, for Oct/Nov this year - Jetstar. Was too good a deal not to snap up. Just seats, we'll have to add some luggage for the Mrs and some entertainment for the young fella and some grub for the old fella, but a go...

Re: Australian federal politics
A few alternative dates here: The ensuing Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act 1900 (UK) became law when Queen Victoria signed the Royal Commission of Assent on 9 July 1900. The Queen presented a duplicate copy, alongside her signing pen, inkstand, and table to Barton at a ceremony at Windsor ...

Re: Australian federal politics
Been a big day in Australian federal politics with suprisingly no mention of Putin, the Chinese communist party or the North Koreans, Great day for the Aussie battler and the fair go spirit. Simon Rosenberg @simon_rosenberg The 'broken promise' narrative works better for political opponents when the...

Re: Steve From Steve's Bar Had a Stroke
I spoke to Steve and he was discharged from Hospital, yesterday (Christmas Day) he is at home but he says he has a lot of hard work ahead of him to get anywhere near to where he was prior to being hospitalised. Mostly physiotherapy, I believe. However, his return home ca be considered the BEST Chri...

Re: Cricket 2023
Congratulations to Oz on a great victory in the only sport that they're any good at these days We're bloody good at footy mate. Unbeatable at Aussie rules. So that covers cricket and footy. What other sports are there :-k ? Nice to have a sense of humour innit? Seems its lacking elsewhere 😀 If only...

Re: Cricket 2023
What a game between the Aussies and Kiwis yesterday. A runfest, almost 800 runs in a little under 100 overs. Was fun the watch and because the Kiwis are good blokes was not even too fussed about winning and losing. Great game.

Glalt "How can they (I presume you mean Hamas) possibly justify murdering innocent Israelis in cold blood? What threat were the women, young people, children and old people?." Likewise I dont see Israel launching missiles that only kill Hamas terrorists. Children, women, men all die Both sides are ...

Re: Victorian(Aussie) Commie premier stands down.
Jacinta Allen is the new premier of Victoria. The commie has been replaced by another commie. Don't know how we are going to survive with these radical bolsheviks running the state - “Over time the Victorian community will see me bring a very different style – one that is built on those values … of ...

Re: Victorian(Aussie) Commie premier stands down.
Won 3 elections in a row. Left on his own terms. Increased his majority each election. Labor majority in Victoria so great and the disfunction within the Tories so entrenched that labor pretty well guaranteed another 2 x 4 years terms, which will mean 20 years in power. Victorian economy has boomed ...

Wobbles progress in a thriller. Collingwood 8.10. 58 Western Sydney 8.9. 57. What a game.
Let's hope the Lions and Blues put on a similar show at the Gabba tomorrow.

Re: Who will win the AFL this year
Bit hard to stay very interested when your team finishes 2nd last, and then stone motherless, in the past 2 seasons. I'm starting to empathise with 747. I was in a BD bar last evening, and there were 3 other Aussies in there. Only one of us wasn't an Eagles supporter, and he was from Sydney...
