Re: ABC biased

Yes straightfoward manipulation of numbers Like I said not quite true if you think so. You are much smarter than me, did the ABC change the figures from the Queensland Stats department? Can you show what the stats department published and where the ABC changed those numbers. Also you say bias, as t...

Re: ABC biased

Read the article, read your summary. Cannot understand what is biased. The pie chart shown with various age groups is a tad strange, by lumping different age groups together, but it comes from the Queensland staticians office, not the ABC Who have the ABC targeted with their bias? Isn't this a rathe...

In Australian slang smick means to be sharply dressed.

Re: Brexit has saved

Ah, but Tam. I can be a Brit or an Aussie, can change on a whim when it suits me. There are things sadly and gladly I cannot be, can't be English, Thai or American although I am likely to move back to USA later in the year for a wee while.

Re: Brexit has saved

I'm not a Brit, just an observer. If it were my country, I would resent a huge bureaucratic group making rules for my country. I certainly would have supported leaving. Obviously the majority of Brits felt the same way. The USA has already signed dozens of International conventions. The Geneva Conv...

Re: climate change

Rick, Of course we will, but it has nothing to do with man made greenhouse gases. All the climate scientists, who are supposed experts are wrong. - it is sun spots - It is part of the natural cycle - CO2 is good for the environment - it has all happened before there is nothing you can do about it - ...

Re: Iran launches attack on Israel

Iran flouts all diplomatic niceties, I doubt that it's outpost was not being used for nefarious purposes.

The question in my mind, was it sensible for Israel to further inflame what was already overloaded with tensions by opening a new front. For me, i think that was really dumb.

Re: Stabbings at Sydney Mall, 6 killed

I found yesterday that one of the female victims was a friends daughter. Working in a dress shop one minute, dead moments later. Maked me think how vulnerable we are, no matter how safe we feel.

Re: Australia: Brittany Higgins and her texts for Labor support

I note when the story broke, it took no time at all before some on here defended the rapist by saying 'it take 2 to tango'. I am glad that while belatedly, this nasty SOB has been found by the courts to have committed this dreadful crime. I hope there us more action to follow and he finishes up eati...

Still waiting for your evidence of Penny Wong condemning the Iranian attack on Israel. You made the statement about the defening silence, I googled Wong and Iran attack and found several articles refuting that, I don't need to be at your beck and call and do your research, do it yourself, as you sh...

Re: Easy pop shots at OZ labor Govt.

Where is Jackspratt when you need him, given that the silence is deafening in Penny Wong's condemnation of the Iranian government forces in launching in excess of 200 rockets and drones at Israel. Perhaps she was too busy planning her attendance at the pro-palestinian rally in Melbourne. You are no...

I think the death toll has reached 7, but that may include the assailant, who got shot dead with three bullets from a female cop on the scene who is to be commended for her actions.

Re: Future energy sources?

Has anybody noticed? Climate deniers seem to have adopted an interesting stance, not just to deny climate science, but to critisise any form of alternative energy as if it respresents as challenge to their beliefs. - Solar is no good because the sun does not shine at night (true but if you can store...

Re: Future energy sources?

Were the Coalition kicked out because of climate change policies ? Yes, they were, climate change was a significant issue at that election. At the 2022 federal election, teal independents running almost entirely on climate change defeated six sitting Liberal MPs; Allegra Spender in Wentworth, Kylea...

Re: Future energy sources?

Seems lots of people care, but 99.9% do FA and that .1% make a lot of hot air Your opinion, but once again, unsupportable by the facts. A salient example, last Oz elections the climate denying coalition government was kicked out. The votes went to those who overwhelmingly supported climate action. ...
