Re: Easy pop shots at OZ labor Govt.

The ANA is hardly an unbiased body, they have as their policy since 1983 been promoting Nuclear Energy. They do not have the support from any other scientific body in the country. DUTTON LIKES THEM!

Re: Easy pop shots at OZ labor Govt.

Lets poke a pin in a few Balloons on this thread. - The Chinese have almost no presence in the Australian wine industry. There is zero evidence that they intend to dominate the industry. TT's 3 year old listing of mostly tiny vineyards owned by Chinese interests, established this as a fact. - Abbott...

Re: Easy pop shots at OZ labor Govt.

China's ownership of the Australian wine industry is so tiny it is insignificant. Their capacity to buy bulk wine in Australia in bulk tankers does not exist. They can buy that cheap wine in other countries, Australian wines could not compete in that sector. It won't happen. As for Barney's statemen...

Re: Future energy sources?

Until they can extract hydrogen from air economically, major hydrogen use is out of reach. Extracting hydrogen with electricity is somewhat promising but not yet unless the electricity is generated from renewables such as wind and solar. Then there is still the problem of how to transport and store...

Re: Future energy sources?

My apologies LYM, it was India not China that changed the names of provinces to be called states.

Re: Easy pop shots at OZ labor Govt.

More good news, instead of the hairy chested table thumping we saw from the erstwhile conservative governments, a bit of commonsense negotiatons have now restored a multi billion dollar export agreement with China. That country has dropped its fabricated anti dumping restrictions on Australian wine....

Re: Future energy sources?

As I said, very little difference between states and provinces. China as an example renamed provinces and called them states....same, same.

Canada does not have any states.
The difference between a state and a province, apart from the spelling? Not a lot IMHO.

Re: Future energy sources?

Speaking of Canada, someone mentioned to me that a Canadian state has nuclear reactors and doing ok, would they be correct. I wonder if that is feasible in Canada. Canada has some very innovative N power plants, I read about one that uses low grade uranium very effectively. They are also experiment...

Re: Future energy sources?

Here he comes out of the woodwork, not adding anything positive, Mr. Narcissist Before the cheap insults, try checking your facts. Yes total emmisions are 1.5% of the world, but Canada's population is only .5% of the world. It is the worlds 11th biggest emitter of Greenhouse gases per capita. Fortu...

Flying in/out of U.S., Singapore or Eva.

Alaska Airlines flying from West Coast to East Coast.
Alaska Airlines is a breath of fresh air. Good for a mid flight dip in the Pacific too.

Re: Future energy sources?

Whistle Canada produces 548 million tonnes of CO2 every year. It requires 31-46 trees to compensate for 1 tonne of CO2. Canada requires 25,208,000,000 (taking the higher number of 46) trees to offset our CO2. The Canadian Boreal Forest has an estimated 500-600 BILLION trees! That means we have enou...

Re: Future energy sources?

The world will NEVER run out of oil. There are many new proved deposits discovered ever year. The doom and gloom reports that oil deposits are finite is just ignorant or maybe stupid to increase oil prices. Oil usage will eventually fall due to environmental problems and not because of shortages. C...

Inevitable that the nutters have come up with this, seems the event was orchastrated to stop Trump winning the election in November, as the election will certainly be called off now this Black Swan Event has taken place. Re: Baltimore Bridge collapse

It would appear following an Engineering report that they knew how unsafe that bridge was IF the supports were damaged. Sadly ZERO preventative measures were in place to ensure the pier bases were protected.seems it was an accident waiting to happen and it has, now the sloping shoulders and the fin...

Re: US Presidential election odds

JFK Jnr would be the type of candidate that would be OK under a preferential voting system, he has zero chance to win any collegiate contests, but lacking a preferencial voting system, it is pretty much a wasted vote. Last election there were 240M registered voters, only 66% actually voted, Biden wa...
