Re: Thailand's Police
Oh yes, the deputy national police chief withdrew his malfeasance complaint against the PM from the NACC. He knows you don't piss on important people's cornflakes while you're still working on your own ascension.

Re: Thailand's Police
"in what appears like a death knell for General Surachate’s future as a policeman, it was made known his nameplate was removed from his former office at Royal Thai Police headquarters. Simultaneously his name and photo were removed from the police website." Excellent! Now he can pursue the nation's...

Dean at Papafarangs
I heard that Dean was taken to hospital by ambulance this afternoon. That's all the information I have.
If anyone has any information, especially which hospital, it would be appreciated.

Re: Vehicle inspection - color match
Took the sports lorry to the same test station I used the past couple of years. Some hasty phone calls made and I was handed a phone to talk to the owner, an English-speaking lady who advised me that the law says I can't have a piebald pickup. However, her brother would waive it this year but I woul...

Re: Proof of Address letters
Dropped by at 13.40 and they were still a bit busy but they took my documents and said it's 1000 THB for the letter in English. I agreed and left the docs with them while I went off to get the sports lorry inspected and pay the road tax. Returned at 15.12 and collected the one thousand baht letter a...

Re: Thailand's Police
Back on topic. The deputy national police chief was "released" from the PM's office whereupon he was suspended from the police and his case sent to the NACC. Citing an effort to thwart his accession to national police chief later this year, the deputy national police chief has subsequently filed his...

Re: Thailand's Police
Are they getting their regular pay cheques at this time? No matter where I look, the answer does not seem to be available. Normally in Canada, police officers who are suspended or under investigation still receive their regular salary. I think that's the norm in most jurisdictions. The Met in Londo...

Re: Proof of Address letters
The letter is supposed to be free (or was) but I paid 200Baht last year. Takes about 15 minutes and time of day is typically "luck of the drawer". I doubt you will get one in English, probably need to get it professionally translated. I take Mrs Dero with her blue book and ID and I just use my pass...

Proof of Address letters
I need a couple of letters from immigration for proof of address in Thailand, one in Thai and one in English. Apart from me and my passport, do they accept the pink ID car and yellow book and Thai DL, or do they need something more like the hosting blue tibian bahn , wife's ID cards, witnesses or ot...

Re: Thailand's Police
The PM moved the national police chief AND the deputy national police chief to the PM's office while BOTH were being investigated for alleged corrupt activities. Only the deputy national police chief has had charges levelled against him. AFAIK, the national police chief is still sidelined and hasn't...
