Re: The Historic Impeachment Trial of Trump

Anyway, for those of a right-wing persuasion who have swallowed the Hannity-speak that this is all about reversing the 2016 election, it aint. In the unlikely event of DJT being found guilty, the incumbent VP would become president, all of Trump's judicial appointees would remain in office and the p...

Re: Harry and Sparkle

But on this thread, it seems to be a particularly British thing, and may provide a minor insight into why H&M wanted to get out. Joking and puerile comments aside, I think I understand why the lady would want to step back from Windsor Inc. I don't think she fully understood what being part of the f...

It makes me chuckle that many expats with no morals at all can openly judge the royal family on an open forum .
Pot , kettle , black ect .
Hey! What version of bloody Windows are you running that shows you what my morals look like?!

Re: Thai Smile miss flight?

Tribe? As in - children? Yours? Well that just about changes everything, Tam. Anyway, I fly into BKK at 1600 hours on Thai Airways and I have enough time to pick up the 19.20 to UTH. I wonder what time Morti is flying in? I hope he's not on some dodgy Arab airline. Tribe, troupe, brood, clan... cho...

Re: Bringing money from the UK question

£5000 is bugger all when it comes to any nation's anti-money laundering or Customs regulations. I recommend he bring it in cash. New bills are always preferred so he may have more hassle ordering them from his local bank than he will transporting it to or spending it here. Back in the heady days whe...

Re: The Historic Impeachment Trial of Trump

As for your suggestion that DJT could still run for POTUS if found guilty, you haven't read or understood what one of the fundamental punishments of being found guilty of Presidential abuse of power and obstruction of justice is. He wouldn't even be eligible to run for president of his local home-o...

Re: So, when did they re-invent the spark-plug?

Count me in as another devotee of pre-80s car design. I'd replace points and condenser annually. The water pump and various filters were easy to access and replace. Pulling out the generator and replacing the carbon brushes was an hours work. The one-piece exhaust pipe and muffler on my MG midget c...

Re: The Historic Impeachment Trial of Trump

IMO the assumption that the Republicans have sufficient safe votes to avoid a conviction is by no means certain. The Demonrats have the means to turn many Republican votes to convict. They have sufficient U.S. and foreign sources to offer billions worth of bribes to dangle in front of Never Trump a...

Re: The Historic Impeachment Trial of Trump

Trump is not a politician which is a good thing in my opinion. Politicians are generally careful what they say, go with the flow, look after each other and play the game with their priority to get reelected. Trump has rocked everyones boat because he is none of those things. if anyone looked honest...

Re: The Historic Impeachment Trial of Trump

I gather that you do not really like Trump. Is it really pertinent if I like Trump or not? Is it important to know if ANYONE likes him or otherwise? To be honest, it is largely irrelevant to me but my opinion is that America had Hobson's choice between Clinton in Trump and made the best of a bad bu...

Re: Thai Smile miss flight?

Although Thai Smile has all the appearances of a low-cost carrier, there can be some flexibility on ticketing changes based on what type of ticket you bought. The cheapest ones may be unchangeable, the more expensive ones will charge a re-booking fee whereas the full-fare ones may waive all that. I ...

Re: The Historic Impeachment Trial of Trump

When you have the Leader of the Senate Republicans openly admitting that he is not an IMPARTIAL Juror, then we all know and hear just how the USA works. The place is a shambles thjis has divided America and Trump is laughing all the way , he works best when the Divided I Rule scenario wins . As Til...

Re: The Historic Impeachment Trial of Trump

Jackson and Clinton were both acquitted be the Senate. Nixon was not impeached as he resigned before the process began. This sham against Trump is the Dems clutching at straws as they know Trump is on course to win a second term. Once again, the resolute Republican ostriches among us still fail to ...

Re: The Historic Impeachment Trial of Trump

The only remedy available to the GAO is to sue for release of the funds. Since the funds were released it is a mute point. The request for investigation was done by a Democrat month since ago. If suit had been filed by the GAO it could be litigated and thus tied up for months. Just another example ...

Re: Sepsis

For me, the jury is out on whether this reported surge in sepsis deaths, especially being flagged in the UK, isn't obscuring something much more malign with the 'wonderful' NHS. My dad basically died on a gurney waiting for an ambulance in a freezing, windy hospital lobby in Peterhead. The post-surg...

Re: Risen from the Dead

^ Good result. However, make a note of the date you replaced it and see how long it holds up. I have had a 50/50 success rate with replacement UPS batteries from Amorn and before I buy, I see if there's an original manufacturing date anywhere on the battery. The older they are, the shorter their lif...
