Re: This Week's Shopping Deal

The Manager there is a wanker! You go there sometimes Onions? ..no have! have Potatoes...No have! I've been there in the evening and all the meat counters empty! And My Tesco shortcake no longer sold there! Because of that I lost weight! Disgraceful! I am genuinely surprised to hear this particular...

Popped in today for my wee shop, was pleasantly surprised at the new expanded range of dry goods, pies, curries, white pudding, and a good choice of cheeses.

The right move at the right time. No point having further talks or motions in Parliament.

The new T.I.T. Shop

Am I correct that there was a post giving opening times and deal details yesterday? As
I cannot see any trace today. In town later this week and want to do a wee shop.
Meats & More, I believe is the new name.

The key to shopping at Makro is to get in first thing in the morning, this applies to Tesco also.

Dear God you cannot be serious, Bruce Springsteen a glorified pub singer, songs for the masses. Just wait until Lone Star has sight of this, we are in for open warfare.

Re: Road crash survey

Here since January 2012, drive almost every day, including Udon-Pattaya and Chiang Mai- Mai Song Hon. Nil accidents. Standard of driving in the area is frankly appalling, but I am ultra defensive in avoiding problems. The mix of vehicles here is astonishing, little old ladies on bikes at 5kph, with ...

Re: This Week's Shopping Deal

Although the price of normal size packs of Mainland cheeses is on the rise at all locations, in Makro I found a 500 gram pack of their vintage brand strong cheddar for 249baht. This is essentially half price compared to the 250 gram packs, which are more commonly available. Unaware if they will pack...

Thanks for the update on the Tesco brand products.I will be a willing consumer. Also it's interesting to get information from the sois regarding how business is going. It appears to be the exact opposite to what TAT and associated organisations are sprouting. [/quote] It is always good news to hear ...

Semperfiguy hits the nail right on the head here. Likewise I have stopped trying to be courteous, there is simply no point. My wife could not believe the polite way drivers in Scotland behaved, when we lived there.

Re: SetTop Box or Media Player?

Simply disconnect your HDMI cable, and take the laptop with you. I found my STB to be very poor to set up and use, it has been languishing in a cupboard for 3 years. There is, I believe, a HDMI gadget which has wireless connectivity, though I have not personally seen one here. I am with HD pRIME and...

Re: Brexit domino effect - EU28 Kantar poll

The British people are very fortunate that the Brussels cabal doesn't presently have the EU army they desperately desire. If they had such a force they would use the bullet and the bayonet to invade upstart nations and severely punish them for any secession attempts. I say this as in the 1860's the...

I had an episode with Shingles whilst serving in Germany, I was literally crawling up the wall in pain. Thankfully the MO recognized it immediately, and prescribed treatment. One week off work confined to the Mess, no contact with others. I would take the jab if offered.

Re: It was never about Europe. Brexit is Britain’s reckoning with itself

The UK will always be a significant player in world affairs. It's still an attractive place to live and work, except for the ex-pats who desire a warmer climate in retirement. ;) The biggest threat it faces comes from within. The rise of nationalism and the xenophobic nature of it's rhetoric is com...
