Re: Villa market

Agree with Saint, Villa is the go to place for more unusual items, the key here is not to buy day to day items. There are bargains to be had, but you need to look hard for them. Last years the freezers were completely re-stocked ahead of Christmas rush, I expect that to happen again shortly. Staff l...

It will be either a big roundabout or lights to do any turns
Should not be congested as sraight traffic over pass or tunnel
The roundabout should therefore be "Farang" only, or it becomes the usual "MeFirstAbout".

Re: Overpass/tunnel Udon Ringroad Nongkai Hwy

Can anyone explain to me how you would travel from Nong Khai to the Airport, once the underpass/overpass is operational. Coming from NK, there is new signage indicating left hand lane for KK and NLB. Will it still be a U-turn to the airport?

If any (more) proof was needed that the world is going to hell in a politically correct, gender-neutral sort of hand basket... Students at the University of Oxford have voted to ‘replace clapping’ with a silent wave because it ‘could trigger anxiety’. "They are instead being told to use ‘jazz hands...

I ...

I have been in twice so far, excellent choice of meats and pies, and some unusual cheeses. Branston beans at 50 baht per tin, 3 for 125 baht, they even had white pudding available. Indian meals are superb value and taste. In town tomorrow will re-stock my cupboard.

Re: Microsleep

I experienced Microsleep once while driving through Glencoe, Scotland, very frightening. I had had a full nights sleep before setting out. No re-occurance thankfully. However, it would not be too high up on my list of necessary road signs in Thailand.

The new T.I.T. Shop

Am I correct that there was a post giving opening times and deal details yesterday? As
I cannot see any trace today. In town later this week and want to do a wee shop.
Meats & More, I believe is the new name.

The key to shopping at Makro is to get in first thing in the morning, this applies to Tesco also.

Here since January 2012, drive almost every day, including Udon-Pattaya and Chiang Mai- Mai Song Hon. Nil accidents. Although the price of normal size packs of Mainland cheeses is on the rise at all locations, in Makro I found a 500 gram pack of their vintage brand strong cheddar for 249baht. This is essentially half price compared to the 250 gram packs, which are more commonly available. Unaware if they will pack...
