Out in public , yes , as its the responsible thing to do .

Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.

Air Quality has absolutely nothing to do with the virus, its spread, social distancing, masks etc Nothing I'd think that healthy lungs would be helpful in resisting the virus attack. Anything detrimental to one's lungs (smoking, air pollution etc.) would, it seems to me, weaken the body's defense m...

Re: Reporting from Across the Pacific

Enjoyed the read parrot. We were supposed to leave for the States on 10 May to attend my son's wedding and to visit my sister in Arlington, Texas but of course, reservations cancelled now. Was looking forward to some of the things not available here but can wait a while longer. Best of luck with sor...

Have been reading a book by Bob Hope recently and one passage that stood out

" There is an old proverb that those who don't learn from history are destine to repeat its mistakes"

No need to say more

Re: Why do you stay in Thailand?

I've been giving this some thought and reading through the posts many valid points have been made regarding the reasons for continuing to stay in the Kingdom. I've been here full time for 13 years now and I've come to the conclusion that the primary factor keeping me here is air conditioning. Withou...

Re: Losing Jungle Status

I enjoy reading posts like this. Twenty years ago most of us were somewhere else doing something else. We arrived here for different reasons and under different circumstances and our reference point is tied that event. We've all seen the changes that have occurred during our personal presence, but f...

If you're looking for yeast for occasional home baking (small amount) Perfect brand is found in most all grocery outlets. I've been using it here for a decade. It's with the other baking supplies like flour, baking soda, baking powder etc.

Re: Overpass/tunnel Udon Ringroad Nongkai Hwy

I've not traveled through the tunnel yet but may make a run up that way this week. I reckon there are plenty of warning signs to prevent over-height loads from entering. Daily, I see pickup trucks with produce stacked to the max. Does anyone know what the clearance height is?

Yes, I've noticed in the village that is just the old ladies who still chew the betel nut wad. Over the years there are less and less of them. The younger generation have other options it seems.

หมาก (maak) = betel nut chew

หมากฝรั่ง (maak farang) = chewing gum

But English seems to be a common denominator for the people we know who are successful. I think that speaking, reading and writing English is certainly a distinct advantage. Our niece is a third year student at Mae Fah Luang University in Chiang Rai. Her basic English skills were developed while in...

Yeah, this loss will drop Missouri to 5 and 3. They won't make it back into the top 25 this season.
