Re: Baghdadi

"The new IS leader is identified as a scholar, a well-known warrior and "emir of war" who has battled American forces and knows "its wars." "So don't rejoice America for the death of Sheik al-Baghdadi," the speaker said. "Don't you know America that the state (IS) today is at the doorstep of Europe...

I have to live 26 weeks a year in NZ, if I want the pension all year..
overstay the 26 weeks overseas by a couple of days, and I have to pay the whole years pension back, not just the couple of days..so feel pleased with what you got.
Hi maaka

Sent you a PM

Hope it helps

Re: World Cup Rugby

I think pipoz is not banging on about the English being defeated and only made an informed call as to Eddie Jones's comments. Perhaps it was Eddie's attitude to the loss which caused his players to sook around at the presentation and not wear their 2nd place medals. Eddie Jones should have complime...

Re: World Cup Rugby

I listened to Eddie Jones's crap response in the after match interiew, when he defended the result by saying, something along the lines of, "these things happen and look we are still the second best team in the world". Sorry Eddie, but one game does not make you the second best team in the world and...

Re: World Cup Rugby

Brilliant tactics by the South African Coach. He did his homework well. You could see it in the way the Safa's tackled the English big men players and the speed off their line. As for Eddie Jones, well Eddie, you will just have to eat a lot of that sh...t that you peddled in this last week.

Re: Mandatory health insurance for Non O-A visa effective from 31 October

STWW , not quiet sure about all that? I understood it, that if I want to/try to extend my current Non Imm O-A Visa in March 2020 (out to 2021), then I will need to have my Long Stay Health Insurance in place by next March 2020 But between now and say February 2020, I can come and go from Thailand wi...

Re: Mandatory health insurance for Non O-A visa effective from 31 October

The intention now is that I will fly out for a week just before my Non-Imm Type O-A Vista expires, sometime in March 2020, and then re-enter Thailand on a 30 Day Tourist Visa. After being back a week, I will then apply for a Non-Imm Type O Visa (not a extension of my O-A), which when the Type O is a...

Re: Mandatory health insurance for Non O-A visa effective from 31 October

OK, I've read through it several times, still aren't sure what it says. But it appears to say all extensions of stay for Non O-A or rather extension of stay based on retirement. The wording is that extensions of stay (for retirement) where the original visa entry was a Non-OA need insurance issued ...

Re: Is it time to say bye Thailand?

Tales of doom and gloom for the Thai economy have been around for as long as Marc Faber has been predicting doom and gloom during much of the longest stock market rally in history. All that debt, yet I continue to see a good many red plates plying the streets of Udon. My poor neighbors who bought s...

Cambodia now has a straight forward retirement visa, up to a year. No reporting or income requirements. From my reading it is easy to get if 55+.
That's what I was told (no reporting or income requirements) when I was there

Re: Is it time to say bye Thailand?

I had a friend who made the move to Cambodia. He was living in the Sihanoukville area. When I asked him about his visa, he went on a tirade about how corrupt Cambodia was. He didn't know much about his visa other than he paid some guy to take care of it for him. If it were me, I'd be careful with t...

Re: Is it time to say bye Thailand?

Glad you enjoyed Phnom Penh. I stayed away from the night life but I noticed many touts around the river including girls and ladyboys for hire, and gamblers who are not shy from approaching you. I ate at Khmer places as I was not interested in western food. What is the quality of hospitals like in ...

Re: Is it time to say bye Thailand?

I had a friend who retired while in Hawaii. He said retiring there was too expensive so he came to Thailand. He never had anything good to say about Thailand so he moved to Cambodia. After less than a year he came back to Thailand. He said that Cambodia was worse than Thailand. After trying two dif...

Brass - Polished Plate or Angle

Does anyone know where to buy Brass, i.e. plate (5 to 10mm thick) and or brass angle sections, in or within driving distance of Udon Thani or even in Bangkok. Also does anyone know a place in Udon Thani that can fabricate & polish brass and or copper, relatively small items, out of either plate or a...
