Re: Insurance requirements up to 3Million baht
Already in 2019 when this scheme first came up there was information how to change from OA to O. O does not need insurance at all. https://www.thaiembassy.com/travel-to-thailand/health-insurance-thailand-for-retirees You started with a 90-day O Visa, then got a one-year OA Visa? I'm sure you did th...

Re: Phuket Sandbox
Thanks Stats. We did have the foresight to purchase 1 liter insulated, opaque drinking containers before we left the USA to take to the restaurants and beach now that alcohol is banned at those places!

Re: Phuket Sandbox
Live from Phuket! Ok, so I got back to Thailand today via the Sandbox. We'll see how it goes during the next 14 days. As I had mentioned earlier and, now that I'm here, I want to say again that for the basic tourist traveler, you are nuts coming back under the Sandbox. From my experience, the COE ex...

Re: Phuket Sandbox
Stats - just so you don't lay awake at night worrying about the flight crew returning to Phuket each day, they actually are in compliance with the Phuket-entry rules. The regulations state that anyone scheduled to depart on a flight from Phuket ARE ALLOWED entry to Phuket the day of departure. So, i...

Re: Phuket Sandbox
Note:- Nok are saying they are only allowed to fly one way (out of Phuket), so have they now purchased pilot and staff less planes, as neither their pilots or aircrew meet the current govt. requirements to be allowed to enter the Island If you are saying that Nok Air IS NOT returning the planes eac...

Re: Phuket Sandbox
Samuel, thanks for posting the information on the extended Nok flights. If they keep that going, it certainly solves my problem getting back to Udon from Phuket!

Re: Phuket Sandbox
I don't head back to Udon until 3 Sept, so hopefully things have loosened up somewhat by then. If not, hire an ambulance in Phuket to drive me to Udon. Flashers going, 120 kph, and no policeman in their right mind to pull us over. (And if one did pull us over, just have the driver explain there is a...

Re: Phuket Sandbox
My wife and I just received our approved COEs for our arrival in Phuket on 20 August. Overall, a simpler, less stressful and less expensive option than using the old 14-day Bangkok ASQ quarantine, which I went through last October. Total approval time was 13-days. Had the airline not changed our fli...

Re: Phuket Sandbox
I think that Stat's report of around 6,000 tourists coming through the Sandbox in July is spot on. Total arrivals for July will be around 13,000, meaning that around half will be returning, like my wife and me, to our Thailand home rather than as a tourist. In my specific situation, our original fli...

Re: Phuket Sandbox
I am in the process of returning to Thailand on 19 August via the Phuket Sandbox. For those interested, I will share my experience so far. The COE application is a two-part process, both done on-line. (I am going through the Chicago Thai Consulate). In Part One, you submit: 1. Basic personal informa...

Re: Nok Restaurant - in Nongsamrong Area (Sponsor)
I just heard from Nok that Alfie was in a serious accident yesterday and is critical condition at Udon General Hospital. He was riding his bicycle and was rear ended by three teenagers driving a motorcycle.
I don't have any other details right now.

Re: Will Trump make the Grade.
As a note of interest, during the same time frame since Trump's election, Britain's stock market is up 1.6%, Germany's market is up 6.8% and the Chinese market is DOWN (18.1%). Makes the American market increase of 23% even more impressive when compared to the other major markets.
