A little (a lot?) of safety will be added if there is an RCCB/RCBO/ELCB protection.
Will guess you have Not read my previous posts?
I did but don't remember the details, Sorry I didn't go all the way back to check.

Re: Extension Cords Hard to Find Now

Interesting post blue But I disagree with you completely. The same size and construction of every appliance here in Thailand using a FLAT blade plug is no different than 3 prong flat blade plug pictured earlier. I'm completely in agreement. A plug rated at 15A at 125V AC is absolutely safe at about...

Re: Extension Cords Hard to Find Now

Had to say Sometime, being that the only time grass (mostly weeds after 15 yrs) grows is during rainy season, so the odds that the grass is wet is close to 100% Then again I do have to unplug the mower and plug in the trimmers (grass & hedge) so it dam hard to not touch the connection. Guess I bett...

Re: Extension Cords Hard to Find Now

I should post a picture of my Extension Cord on my lawn mower, which I have been meaning to fix for maybe a dozen of years. Sure you'al would get a kick out of it. Maybe tomorrow. Don't want to pour gasoline on the subject, but what's the thoughts on my electric lawnmower hook up? How long do...

Re: 800k in thai bank for extending retire visa

Yes, sorry, I should have followed the posts through. I wasn't aware of the involvement of Citi Bank as a third party. Immigration should accept these transfers and not take a "more than my jobs worth "attitude. If its domestic it is not internationals doesn't qualify Screenshot 2019-06-19 at 17.34...

Re: 800k in thai bank for extending retire visa

I get my company pension transferred to the Bangkok Bank and it has the source FTT against the amount which I believe indicates it comes from abroad. When I can claim my UK Government Pension I was hoping it could be transferred in the same way. (code FTT) But I,m a bit confused by your comment tha...

Re: 800k in thai bank for extending retire visa

... the transfers must be from overseas into your account, domestic transfers (HMG pension paid in Thailand) do not qualify. If you can have 400,000 in an account for 2 months before you apply then if immigration doesn't like your income proof, you have a backup plan Can you just clarify,"domestic ...

Re: 800k in thai bank for extending retire visa

I'm off topic here (marriage, not retirement) and my next extension is 8 months away. But I will probably be attempting to apply on the basis of pension income, not lump sum, including proof that the income originates from the UK. Thus, my reasons for being a pain in the rear for asking if anyone's...

Re: 800k in thai bank for extending retire visa

My apologies if I've missed something amidst all the visa posts. Hoopoe's attachment below appears to be a document given to him (or someone else) during the processing of a retirement extension application and includes some of the changed criteria, notably how long money has to be in the bank and ...

as for extension leads best just make your own .
I'm with you on that. The extension lead I showed above is quite happy at 3000W as it's 2.5mm multi strand copper home made. Shop bought are ok for lights and fans only IMHO.

Re: Extension Cords Hard to Find Now

A few months later, I visited again.........all the outlets were 3 prong. I can't remember the year, but probably 2005-2007. Prior to that time, you'd be hard pressed to find a 3 prong plug in any Thai home....new or old. Today it seems to be the standard.....whether the outlets are properly instal...

Re: Extension Cords Hard to Find Now

The 3 pin plug and socket in the picture are only rated for 125 volts. I saw them at Dohome and asked them to remove them as they are dangerous. Yes an ELCB or GFI are a must for safety. Look at how many people die using chargers for phones that fail. To be exact they have a number of 15A 125V stam...
