Well, there's floods at one end and fires at the other, at the same time.
So where does that leave the doomsday soothsayers..??

Re: 60 day visit visa
Often curious when these come up as to how one handles the requirement to have a return airline ticket with visa exempt entry (if this is what the Op refers to) It is actually an onward ticket not a return, though of course a return will be okay. Often people will get a cheap ticket that they throw...

Re: LPG conversion (older Ford,3.0L V6)
Just be aware the moment one tends to use "cheaper" alternatives, government tends to jump on the bandwagon and " seal the gap" so to speak. Happened down in Aus maybe 15-20 years ago where gov offered almost free gas installs. Those that took it up only enjoyed the sunshine for maybe 6-12 months, t...

Re: NE fuel prices 91 grade?
There was a great outcry before the election about the rising cost of fuel so they dropped 20c a litre off the excise. Government will tell you there is no tax on the fuel.......their cut is excise. Apparently it has something to do with keeping Aus price the same as Singapore....could never follow ...

Re: NE fuel prices 91 grade?
Ok...thanks...remember totally filling my wifes new car 2 years ago almost to the day for $50, now $70 doesn't even get 3/4 full.
Very similar pricing to Aus so I'll not be surprised when we get back.
Cheers

Re: Australian Election
The younger generation of Australians have spoken, demanding that climate change be front and centre of any future policy decisions by the government. Good luck to Anthony Albanese as he walks the tightrope of competing interests within his party and those on the cross benches. Mostly all talk, no ...

Re: Expired Thai Passport
The remedy....back then.....was for her to obtain a Certificate of Identity from the DC consulate. Yes, similar here although, same as for getting her a new passport, you have to go to Canberra Consulate in person and the cost of flights, time and accomodation put it in the crazy basket. Nonstop dri...

Thought I might get her the covid insurance as that is not such a hastle, do the Thai Pass if that's still going when we come, and then let her rock up to immigration, hand over Expired Thai passport and current ID Card. If rejected then. she could still...

Re: Expired Thai Passport
Canberra Thai Consulate response was ..... "In this regard the decision will be under immigration officer. We cannot guarantee on that if she can be able to to entry like that. " :D ....thought if they can't , who can but there ya go. I have a feeling the consulates and Thai Immigration are separate...

Expired Thai Passport
Asked over at another forum but no one could actually point to a definite immigration rule. There may not be one, hard to say but need something concrete to go by, not just hear say. Wife is Thai and has Aus ciitzenship and Aus passport. She can travel on that out of and into Australia no problem. A...
