Re: Source of Income
Thanks for your responses. I also received a PM which included "I do not believe that Immigration have ever scrutinised where income has come from for Married extension with the same effort that they put into retirement extensions. Which makes sense, I guess, as, on a Marriage extension, it is possi...

Source of Income
It seemed a hot topic some time ago when Immigration was raising queries on the source of income i.e, was the money arriving in your bank account transferred from inside or outside Thailand. I don't seem to see anything about it now. Has the issue 'died' or perhaps applicants have found solutions, o...

Re: marriage visa udon immigration
The Officers decision being final is an error, if you disagree and your disagreement is correct you can go up the chain of command to politely challenge the decision, of course if you are wrong then an agent and brown envelope can often change that. Easier said than done to keep it polite. I had th...

Re: marriage visa udon immigration
This is on the guidance leaflet:-
"The Immigration Office reserves the right to ask for any other documentation not included in the present list".
Bit like confirming your team's new player IS a striker, but we can't actually promise he'll score goals!

Re: marriage visa udon immigration
Supplying immigration more documents than the actual requirement is not such a great plan, it just gives them an opportunity to locate extra problems. Yes, let not you and I come to blows  when we're both trying to help. My provision of extra paperwork from the bank's head office(viewed by the...

Re: marriage visa udon immigration
sometimewoodworker's clarification is welcome. My post was intended to show what I felt necessary for an extension of stay based on marriage, using the income method. As suggested and from experience, I try to bring everything including the kitchen sink - just in case. I haven't studied the latest I...

Re: marriage visa udon immigration
Whilst we await clarification on this 'letter of support', I thought I'd post below in that it might be of help to some. This is my checklist before I visit Immigration, produced partly in the knowledge of being messed about previously and experiencing/hearing of officer quirks. Possibly not every i...

Re: marriage visa udon immigration
and if you are British, a letter of support from the UK.Embassy. It took them about 15 mins to reply and email the letter. It turned out that this was very significant. 'Letter of support' Never heard of that one before, unless you mean it's a successor to the no longer acceptable confirmation of i...

Re: Scrap/Recycling - Household Electrics
You might want to consider a fibre glass coating over the original lids to strengthen them. Thanks for the idea, but the lids are in a very poor state, each probably in about 12 pieces of different sizes and only holding together with bits of tape! I did consider a single sheet of sticky paper, but...

Re: Scrap/Recycling - Household Electrics
I haven't been into Udon yet, thinking I'll wait until the extra madness has cleared - Monday?, when school run starts again anyway. If anyone knows of any other repair/recycling places, perhaps you'll let me know roughly where it/they are.

Re: Scrap/Recycling - Household Electrics
Thanks Niggly for that. The sort of place I may find what I need. Not my normal route into town, but know the road for Viriyah Insurance, Army Hospital and the Rajaphat. No great hassle to divert that way next time I'm in Udon.

Re: Scrap/Recycling - Household Electrics
Go to washing machine repair shops, they normally have a lot of bits and pieces lying around, I know a few in Phen that are loaded with old bits, or get some lids fabricated. Thanks, I know what you mean. Yeah, I've looked around the few repair shops I found in Phen, but no joy. I'm not sure that A...

Scrap/Recycling - Household Electrics
Excuse the trivia, but has anyone noticed a scrap/recycling place in/around Udon with household electrics stuff? As long as they don’t grab me and chuck me on a pile of something, I thought I’d take a shot in the dark and try and find replacement centre lids for an AJ twin tub washing machine. I kno...
