Australia's Mitchell Johnson retires from international cricket

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has said he is retiring from all international cricket.
He said his career had been an "incredible ride" but now was the "best time to say goodbye".
Johnson, 34, will retire at the end of the current Test against New Zealand on Tuesday Cricket Australia said.
He will leave the field as Australia's fourth-highest Test wicket-taker with a current tally of 311 in his 73 Test appearances.

Mitchell Johnson.....he's been a superb bowler on his day but either seemed unplayable or quite ordinary.....just my opinion......good luck to him, anyway ! =D>

Meanwhile in the bowels of Perth cricket ground, its day 5 of 5.
Australia currently 281-4,a lead of 216.....Smith out for 138,Voges 115 not out.

Johnson should get the new ball and go for it on his last test,
Lets see some express and not just fast bowling.
As nice a man as he is if he gets om top I am hoping for some intimidation and some verbal from him.

Finally a proper 5 day test being played as it was intended. Hopefully a winner will emerge, with OZ in the driving seat

Not like that pseudo 5 day/extended limited over series they called the Ashes :(

I managed to dig this answer out...
The only rule in toss is that in a bilateral series, the host captain flicks the coin while visiting captain calls a side. During multi country tournaments, ICC decides which captain tosses the coin, alternatively.
After studying Barney and Bobs posts on the matter earlier, the ECB have decided to act......

ECB may scrap the toss in County Championship Division Two
The toss would remain in domestic one-day cricket
The toss could be scrapped in County Championship Division Two matches next season under proposals being considered by the England and Wales Cricket Board.
The ECB's executive board will discuss the plan on Thursday after it was recommended by its cricket committee.
If it is approved a one-year trial will take place in 2016 to try to improve pitches and encourage spin bowlers.
The away team would choose whether to bat, bowl or still have a toss if the pitch condition was uncertain.
The toss will remain in County Championship Division One and domestic limited-overs cricket.
It was mentioned in the first recorded laws of cricket in 1744 when the team winning the flip of the coin would have the choice of which pitch to use as well as whether to bat or bowl first.
The ECB believes many matches in Division Two are decided by the toss because home teams are producing pitches to suit their bowlers.
However, no team in the County Championship has been deducted points for preparing a poor pitch since 2011.

Anyway, the 3rd Test between Australia and New Zealand starts in Adelaide on Friday as the Aussies begin life without Mitchell Johnson.

Interesting comparison, Warner's current bat and Richards Bat he got his 325 runs.
I didn't realize how much they had grown in size.
By the way a good start by the Kiwi's 1/51 after an hour

Kiwi's 6/142,
They may now miss the opportunity to make history and be the first team to bat under lights in a test. :-"

Chased just hard enough, not a of of energy required to chase a kiwi as they don't fly and have little legs.
Well don to the Aussie's. Not sure if the day night test with a gay ball is ticked off the list of good implemented ideas yet.
Traditionalists will be on the NO side of the fence.
Through commentary only for me it appeared that the Kiwi capt came 2nd on decisions. If that is true then Smith didn't have to do much for fear of making a mistake.

Next test for Smith is the West Indies.
