"The Turkish embassy in Bangkok told The Nation yesterday it was verifying information with the foreign ministry in Ankara over reports that some Turks may have been involved in the blast. When asked whether the Turkish government had been contacted by Thai Police for cooperation, embassy staff said they could not respond on this issue for the moment."

I would be surprised if Turkey helps the Thais. There would be too much internal blowback.

Link to the Grey Wolves and perhaps a feasible investigation by the Junta is warranted

In July 2015 the Grey Wolves staged protests across Turkey, burnt flags of the People's Republic of China, attacked Chinese restaurants and "tourists who were mistaken for being Chinese" in response to the Chinese government's ban on the Muslim Turkic Uyghurs to fast during the holy month of Ramadan. Korean tourists were attacked by Grey Wolves. Members of the Grey Wolves displayed a banner in multiple locations that read, "We crave Chinese blood."
Grey Wolves members attacked the Thai consulate in Istanbul in apparent retaliation for the deportation of hundreds of Uyghurs by Thailand
. Devlet Bahçeli stated that "Our nationalist youth is sensitive to injustices in China."

If it involves Turkey the Thais can forget about pursuing the investigation. The blowback will be fierce. Turkey was stupidly given weapons by the US to fight ISIS. What did they do instead? They attacked Turkish Kurds. If Thailand wants the southern insurgency escalate into a civil war go ahead and get involved with Turkey.

Turkey is something like 100% muslim but I like Turkey and Grease two of my summer Barbeque favorites. If the idiots that cooked up this horrible act were from Turkey they are Muslim and you could strap them to a chair give them truth serum (or as I call it in Thailand Jagermister) and you would just say lets go over this again and again and again..... you did what for why? and they would tell you five hundred times the same unbelievable stupid but true story and you say seriously ???????? you would finally come to the conclusion they are just low grade idiot c*nts fighting a religious war. You cant get into the head of someone that blows up shrines and supermarkets. Searching for some highly articulated multinational global strategy is a fools errand. I hope the Junta can get there hands on these guys and have a little public display of punishment for killing innocence.

Fairly damming piece in Khaosod English about the investigation so far.

Watch this space for the news of MORE moves to the basement of the Police headquarters, home of the notorious inactive posts office. Location of a crematoria for ridding the world and Thailand of unwanted, in-efficient and incompetent officers.
Needs a clean as they have forgotten how to use it.

The attached blog page points out some of the complexities of who is who and who they are supported by. Since Thailand is run on corruption it is not hard to imagine officials being paid to turn a blind eye.

But it begs the question: Why would PM Prayut give the task of investigating the bombing to the police? Surely he has to realize issues of national security can not be delegated.

The US has been kicking him in the balls since day one. He is not their boy. The US the biggest creator of human suffering and misery is worried about slaverry in the Thai fishing industry. The US agriculture industry uses slave labor. The whole flower business is built on slave labor.. But this is the US which able to control the media.

suspected Erawan bomber.jpg
Police arrested a Turkish man at a rented room in Bangkok's Nong Chok district Saturday afternoon and found a lot of bomb making tools and materials.
The arrest was made after about 100 police and troops surrounded the apartment at at 1:30 pm.
Among the materials, police found 0.5mm-diameter ball bearings that were the same type with the bombs that exploded at the Erawan Shrine and the Sathorn pier on August 17 and 18.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

It would appear that the man might be Turkish - although the picture of his passport that is doing the internet at the moment is an amateurish fake.
I understand that the authorities discovered
dozens of passports inside his room
so it will be a while until they know....

Wait for confirmation which one he used to enter Thailand by checking the arrival stamp, crosscheck with airport cctv when entering, come alone or with others,a lucky break as they were saying he has probably left Thailand. :-k
If passport used to enter Thailand and is described as a poor fake passport, makes it sound too easy to enter,do they swipe passports for computer checking :-k
Wait for paraded in front of media wearing same style yellow designer shirt and glasses.

Australian News Summary

Thai Authorities trying to downplay any International Terrorist threat / link

Saying this guy has a personal issue with friends and family - "taking personal revenge for his comrades". WTF

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-08-29/t ... ng/6735132

Looking at the passport Bob, it has the Date of Issue and Date of Expiry, but the wordings are incorrect , alleged he had many passports in his possession , which goes back to the MH 370 incident where Thailand was named a being a country for trafficking of passports etc

Wonder if Thai ever followed up on the Interpol Data Base being available to entry points within Thailand ?

Thailand's top police officer says a man arrested in connection with the deadly Bangkok bomb attack was 'unlikely' to be an international terrorist and was rather motivated by a personal feud.'He is a foreigner, but it's unlikely that he is an international terrorist, it's a personal feud,' national police chief Somyot Poompanmoung told reporters at the Royal Thai Police headquarters on Saturday.'He got angry on behalf of his friends and family members.'A 28-year-old Turkish man has been arrested in Thailand over the bomb blast that killed 20 people nearly two weeks ago.Police and military seized the man during a raid on a flat in eastern Bangkok, where they also discovered bomb-making equipment and dozens of passports.Neither Somyot nor Thailand's national police spokesman responded to calls from AFP for further comment on the nature of the suspect's motivations. The bomb on Monday August 17 was Thailand's worst single mass-casualty attack, killing 20 people, the majority of whom were ethnic Chinese tourists from across Asia.Thailand's junta have been at pains to play down international terrorist groups as likely suspects, as well as suggestions that the attackers may have deliberately targeted a shrine known for its popularity with Chinese devotees. The country's vital tourist sector is one of the few bright spots at a time when much of the rest of the kingdom's economy is flagging.Potential perpetrators named by the police and experts have included international jihadists, members of Thailand's southern Malay-Muslim insurgency, militants on both sides of Thailand's festering political divide or someone with a personal grudge. - See more at: http://www.skynews.com.au/news/top-stor ... mIsp2.dpuf
