Not sure if their is a gym nearby, but perhaps look into it, as patrons might need a few visits, lol

Tried it yesterday. Food good, service excellent. Friendly people.

It would be nice if you could have a beer or wine with the meal but not a show stopper for me.

True that wazza, was just talking to some folks in Gomen City about that ref. "diet" and "losing weight" being the theme.

Yesterday a rice vendor was in touting organic rice, -we'd like to start offering items like Broccoli w/ Ginger Sauce & Brown Rice, or Sauteed Firm Tofu & Broccoli w/ Brown Rice. More info on those soon for those interested. Anyone who's got some "healthy food" dish recommendations drop us a PM.

Basically we already source a lot of herbs, seasonings, other ingredients so, we can make / invent "different" dishes from that same overall inventory. Not an issue and all part of the fun of cuisine for crafty Chef types.

Chef Nooy recommended this Tuna Salad to one lass who had been noshing a lot on pasta & garlic cheese toast the last couple times in:

Tuna Salad 90 THB.
DIARY-Restaurant-Tuna-Salad-Udon-Thani.jpg
Made with home-made sauce & organic sprouts.
DIARY-Restaurant-Tuna-Salad-Udon-Thani-2.jpg
Also recommended is Grilled Chicken Salad. Also 90 THB.

I've been eating this one for years with the Sesame dressing, tastes great and a health[ier] option on days when a Cheeseburger or Steak & Mashed Potatoes might be overdoing it.

Thanks much for that Charlieb, so glad you enjoyed the food & atmosphere.

Ref. alcohol, if we get something it will likely be Wine or some of the great products from Udon Tap Taste House / 3DM. Belgian beers, American craft beers. http://3dmudon.com

Thus far we have been trying to stay in "Family Dining" mode so "balance" is all. The nicer stuff seems a good fit, we'll try to have some real answers soon.

Looks fantastic, but 10am is too late for me for breakfast, should be 8.30am at the latest.

For sure the pictures of your food do look great.
Congratulations - great job!
But remember Michael Douglas in "falling down" comparing the advertising picture with the real food he got served?
  • So could you please confirm that all your food advertising pictures are taken from the food that is really served and not collected elsewhere?
This will boost your new restaurant even more.

Once again - Congratulations!

My wife Sawitta and I enjoyed another delightful lunch experience at Udon’s new ‘Diary Restaurant’ yesterday.

From the smiling waitress welcoming us with front door open, to the heavy dark wood tables, walls adorned with large professionally taken flower pictures along with the comfortable AC temperature control with young attractive waitresses that instantly understood our 6 dish order in English was refreshing. Could anyone feel more welcome and comfortable, we doubt it.

Every delicious dish on the Diary’s extensive menu is created by Chef Nooy herself.
Sawitta was impressed her Thai food wasn’t loaded with sugar as is often found around town. Sawitta exclaimed flavor of Nooy’s Red Curry dish was perfect; this coming from a TW is unusual to say the least.

When it comes to deserts, Chef Nooy’s Peach, Mango, Strawberry, etc., topped mille crepe deserts melt in your mouth. 12 years in Udon I’ve never had a desert that could touch Nooy’s fruit topped 19 crepe deserts.

If you have yet to visited the new Diary Restaurant you should give it try; to date it may be the best kept secret in town.

Hi Samuel, -these pics are ours. And again thanks for the find on Google Street View. Like I said we have a FREE smoothie for you, compliments of the house. :D

Hi Kubotatim, We'll likely extend opening hours to earlier once we have a 3rd chef (breakfast hours) working part time so the other 2 chefs can stay at full strength / performance quality.

Thanks so much for the kind words Doc, it was great to have you & Sawitta in. :D

THAI FOOD MADE RIGHT is a win-win for those out with the wife / girlfriend / family, -and our 2 Thai chef's both being excellent at it promises that a good meal had by all is possible in Udon.

Chef Nooy's back to making all the deserts she's been known for, and has a huge stack of recipes yet to release that Udonites will surely enjoy.

Look forward to seeing you & Sawitta in again soon. :D :D

We decided yesterday 27th to drive from Nong Han to soi Dutsadu 6 (took my iPad to check the map once on Dutsadu and my wife was angry I did not know where to turn right as always first time trying to find a place in Udon Thani) It was our little ones 4th birthday btw.
Any way very agreeable surprise when entering the premises, super nice welcome etc etc.
Before we could order anything the birthday secret was uncovered and a free ice cream for her promised.
I always anxiously order a spicy Tom Yam Kung, not expecting too much from it, a chicken panaeng, french fries and a fried egg the little one ordered and something spicy ordered by the wife.

The menu cards look absolutely gorgeous with soooo many choices, I could not decide on more food to order, just taste what we ordered now, will have to try many items next visit.

Food was incredibly fast to hit our table, must be a first in 14 years living in Thailand and delivered with enthousiasm, also a rarity. The TYK was very good, still not the best which only my wife can make - she perfectly knows my TYK taste.
Excellent chicken panaeng, nothing of that was given to my wife and I did not have any of hers neither, the little next to me had her fight with her fried egg and her French fries. She eats like a bird but told me "I eat egg maak maak"

Small portions I would say, but then at the price and with the Thai habit of ordering too many plates (which we did not do for once) Top quality food at a very nice premise with top conscious owners.
The bill was surprisingly low, that's because we did not order much drinks was my wife's explanation.
Do Thai wifes always need to know it better???

Oh, I still was hungry and pleased to order DESERT in a Thai restaurant, had to go for the blueberry pancakes and the little one got her free lime birthday ice cream with many cherries which I had to eat, she does not like the cherries, I do...

We will be back for more \:D/

Just had lunch today. Good tasting food and certainly value for money.

As we were initially the only patrons, we felt some soft background music may have been nice.

Will be back

Thanks for that mac1966, glad you liked the tasty food & value, -and, yes I felt the same as you when I walked in for a late breakfast, -far too quiet.

So, minutes after receiving your input, we have the background music set up. Nice, low key, & much better atmosphere. :D

True JS, we'd better get our papers in. We have some whale sounds cued up just in case. Though even that could likely result in a steep 'fine' I imagine. :guitar:

And for those who may think JS is kidding, here's some interesting reading:

oh and by the way CHICKEN BREAST STEAK photos from today.

Black Pepper Sauce in photo, your choice of sauce, will get the choice from Chef Nooy soon as he's done with some hot food underway.
