No problem Magpie. We need a win today - will watch the match this evening here but sadly without some 'broon ale's to accompany me. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Well even I couldn't jinx the Hammers... :D
The big winners yesterday however were QPR. From 2 nil down after 20 minutes to eventual winners. It throws them up the table to 15th. although a Sunderland win or draw later today would push them back down a place.
Leicester now 6 points from safety & Hull starting to look like serious candidates as well.
Who will be the first manager to go as we approach the season of goodwill & manager panic sacking?? :D
fixtures.jpg
Both well worth watching today.
Bit of rush. huff & puff & running round like headless chickens first up in the cold North East.
Followed by the battle of which manager should go in the second.
I think draws all round would suit all the managers involved but will it come to that??

My sphincter would be going ten to the dozen if I were Irvine at WBA, Pearson at Leicester or Rodgers.

Still spitting feathers about last nights result for United and LvGs shocking tactics all made worse by his criticism of the players in the media, blaming them for his inadequacies.

Don't like the guys attitude, style of player or approach to the media.
Far more critical of him than I ever was of Moyes.

What a great finish by Benteke. I dont think the 'Villain' should have seen red - yellow only.

I struggle to comprehend what part of the penalty rule the referee doesn't understand following Everton's Jagielka's 'tackle' against Southampton. Luckily from the resulting incorrect decision Lukaku put it in his own net.

Newcastle - Sunderland

Would anyone care to predict the result? Personally, I think it's a close one.

One goal in the 90th minute - I knew it would be close.

Since the arrrival of the fat forker at Ibrox from his perch at SJP things have gone downhill with all the backroom bollocks thats going on so we don't want his cockney winker sidekick to make things worse Statto. AGM at Ibrox today so that should be interesting. We need an 8 million quid investment before April fool's day (not joking either) to survive. FFS we can't even afford the 750,000 required to pay off McCoist's contract now he is on 'gardening leave'.

Two close encounters & 2 last minute goals to change both matches.

I think Sunderland just about edged the game where a draw would possibility have been the fairest result. An important win for the side though as the move up to 14th. place & stop the rot. Newcastle seemed susceptible to the counter attack all game & maybe need a bit of a rethink on tactics. 5 local lads started the match for them though which is rather better than the French squad that they used to be putting out... :D

Pool saved a point (& possibly Rodgers' job) late into time added on.
It is a strange side that started for them again with no recognised striker on the pitch. Then when behind & making little impression on The Gunners, plan B consisted of bringing on both Rickie Lambert and Borini. Borini went on to confirm that maybe he is not best suited to the premiership by getting 2 yellow cards for 2 petty offenses.
The signings he makes in January just might be the difference between keeping & losing his job. One thing looks fairly certain & that is that Pool currently have at least 2 strikers that they would be better off without - both with surnames starting with the letter B.
Not sure what Arsenal will make of the result. It was a game that their forwards should have won for them & where their defense were not too often under pressure....but they only drew the match. If not in January then in the summer, the board need to strengthen the back line at the club...

Tonight...
Stoke v Chelsea 20:00

Leave our Agent Alan alone Stats, he's doing a great job. And as we've finally won 4 in a row, why not make the most of it

Stoke 0 - 2 Chelsea
All just too easy for the table toppers. 1 up after 2 minutes is just about the best way to ease any nerves.
Stoke 13th. but only 4 points away from trouble. However I guess Mark Hughes will think that not too many of the sides below him would get too much from Chelsea either... :D

looks like we will be giving you the points that will keep you in the premier league for the 3rd season on the trot then.....

both 2012/13 & 2013/14 without the points v Newcastle, Sunderland would have been relegated :-$

Congrats to "Spiderman" who made his comeback (for the U21's yesterday), after recovering from testicular cancer =D>

Good to see Agbonlahor's red has been overturned. I thought a poor decision by the ref in the first place.
