Could this be the answer to Brendon's striker problems?

From the Daily Mirror ..

"Former England ace wants return to Premier League: Emile Heskey has issued a come-and-get-me plea to his former club"

I reckon Heskey could match Rodgers in a managerial role,Rodgers has had enough time and money to waste on Liverpool, he is slowly becoming a liability to the club just another Souness imo for what it's worth , being a Reds fan for as long as I can remember, like I said in my previous post if the Reds fail to produce to-night I think the writings on the wall for Rodgers, and most of the disgruntled fans I think would agree.

Alan Hansen has said he isnt interested in becoming a football manager.
Ian Rush was a disaster as a manager of Chester in League 2.
Untried Emile Heskey as the manager of a Premiership club ! Maybe you mean as a replacement for Ballotelli ?
Now Newcastle are challenging for a Champions League spot you wont be able to prise Pardew away. 8)
Best stick with Brendan for a while yet,eh ? :-k

Last season Liverpool played some great stuff particularily with 3 nimble attackers in Suarez,Sturridge and Sterling up front......all they really needed was a couple of top class defenders.
OK,Suarez has gone but why try to replace him with the likes of Ballotelli and Lambert ? Its disrupted the cohesion of the whole team. They needed someone with a bit of speed up front to replace Suarez. Some of his defensive replacements have been pretty poor up to now and he's signed midfielders when they werent really needed.
I think Rodgers might have made the same mistake as Villas-Boas at Spurs last season when he tried to replace Bale with half a dozen mediocre signings.

With deepest sympathy from 35 miles down the M62. ;)

I totally agree with some of your comments Zid ,my point really is how much time do L F C give Rodgers, remember Hodgkinson and the time remained at Anfield, and what he's doing for the England set-up now,so I think the manager has to shoulder the blame for his teams poor showing ,given the money Rodgers has wasted on poor quality players p.s. did you mean 6,335 miles from you :D

Not sure about Gary Monk's conspiracy theories, but I'm sure there is something going on.
After a whole raft of injuries/restings and never playing a full side in the early part of the Fantasy Footie season, I bit the bullet last week and played my wildcard, got rid of all the injury prone lot and strengthened in all areas. Result, big turn round in fortune, league top score last week and all is roses ............... just checked for this week and FIVE players doubtful again

BTW Newcastles injury crisis has worsened again ..... NOW 13 players on the treatment table

I think this trend started when Kieron Dyer was there.

Keano moves on
I used to idolise this guy in his United days, but he seems to have completely lost the plot lately with endless outbursts.

There is hope for his sanity though as he decides to quit Villa.

It wasn't that many years ago as a player that he walked away from the RoI squad critiscising Mick McArthy's training methods. P*ick

In fairness socksy he walked away (or was pushed :D ) while at a World Cup.
He complained at the training conditions that the squad had to train in & they did look particularly bad in fairness.
He also complained that the large ROI contingent of 'officials' that they had taken were all traveling 1st. class & staying 5* while the players were being treated to tourist class.. :D
He did seem to have more than a point on both accounts, although, usually for Roy, the method & timing of delivery left a great deal to be desired.. :D
I did think that he was quite an astute signing as a second in command to Lambert. who seems a bit placid & thoughtful as a football manager. A sort of ying to his yang... :D It has quite clearly not worked out for them from the results though.

Interesting clash first up with both sides needing a win. The Baggies might be mid table but are only 3 points above those in the zone. The Gunners have not set the world afire this season & early season is often their strongest time. The calls from some so called fans for the manager to be sacked are quite ridiculous though. One day Arsene will decide that he has had enough & will walk away. That will be a day of disaster for Gunner fans, no one else in the Premiership has managed to produce consistently good sides with the financial constraints imposed by the owners.

No stand out games at 3pm. Pick one that features a side you support - or hate.. :D

If Chelsea bring their A game to the North East then Sunderland fans are in for a tough teatime. Best to hope the opposition are in one of their score 1 & defend mind set.. :D

Quite a few Chelsea fans grumbling that their games only last 20 mins.
Chelsea go 2 up and kill the game off.
I feel for them

Newcastle have been using that mindset for years .....score one in the first 5 mins and hang on for 85 mins if you can ......it's only worked about 2 times in 3 seasons

It always amazes me when they include the term 'peronality'. FFS Andy Murray won it last year and he's got about as much peronality as your average tree stump.
