NFL Viewing

Postby Seery » November 23, 2011, 5:28 am

Hi,

I'm visiting my family in Udon around Christmas. My problem is weMy village don't have sattelite TV in the village. I am a big fan of the NFL. Is there any spot that I can watch the game in town and enjoy cold beer(s)?

Thanks!!

I watched Monday Night Football (Chiefs vs Pats) live yesterday morning on Home Cable channel 51. Home Cable channel 87 has re-broadcasts of the previous weeks games every night starting about 20:00.

Seery if the village does not have satellite it is also extremely unlikely to have cable either.
That will mean that your TV viewing will be limited to that available through an aerial - a small number of Thai only programs.
It is also unlikely that you will have an internet link swift enough to watch games via live streaming on the net.

I think your only chance of watching NFL in the village is to bring some CDs with you!!! :D

Not sure if any bars will be showing any live, I guess that would depend on what time the games were on & if the customers requested it....Off the top of my head I cannot, now, think of what I would call an 'American' bar in Udon...If Shado says that it is shown on cable then that is available in the rooms of many of the hotels in town though..

Yep, a special thank you to the ar#e holes at True Visions for shlt canning the ASN Sporting Network in lieu of some moronic 3rd rate sport channel. No NFL, NASCAR etc. out in the rice paddies. :crying: ](*,) :censored:

I will enjoy watching my San Francisco 49ers play Friday morning on Chanfeed.com.I was upset at losing ASN on UBC,but I seldom got to watch my favorite team play anyway!
Since 75% of my TV viewing was ASN programs, being a UBC subscriber has very little value for me.With all the streaming programs available,I doubt that I will sign up with UBC again!

Stan when on chanfeed click on red zone, they go back and forth to all games when a crucial play is involved

Thank you, all for the info!! I guess there's no luck then :-( since, there's no cable, no internet access, and no sattelite. I'm hoping that my Pats will go through for the play off. And, if Shado will be kind enough to share, I'll buy any kind of cold beers up on request :-)

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

All of this talk about the NFL reminds me that the more entertaining league, the CFL (Canadian Football League), begins play this week. Most notable is that it will be the 100th year of competition for the trophy donated by Earl Grey (the Grey Cup). It will be played in Toronto this year, which is fitting since the very first one was played in Toronto when the Varsity Blues (University of Toronto) beat the Parkdale Canoe Club 26-6.
